That is so beautiful and humbling.  I feel the same for you my friend!

I've had the privilege of spending time with some great providers since I've been back in the hobby.  There is one theme that comes up on a pretty regular basis...longevity in the hobby. How does a lady make the hobby work for her in the long run?  I've pondered this question for a while...what has worked for me? This is just my opinion and I'd love to hear the opinion of others on this subject.

The first thing that I believe has helped me be in the hobby long term is always working on myself.  Having an open mind and willingness to learn, change and grow.  I studied the hobby, found mentors and read books and articles. I listen to the gentlemen who bless me with their patronage and do my best to cater to them.  I keep my mind, body and soul healthy. Anything we want starts with who we are and our mindset.

Second, this one ties into the first one, don't abuse drugs and alcohol.  Those things destroy you mind, health and looks.  They get you making bad decisions and greatly lowers your quality time in the hobby.  The type of gentlemen I want to see do not want to see ladies who are living for the demon of addiction.

Third, stay our of the drama.  Have all the respectful, intelligent conversations you want.  Don't waste time in drama, rumors, arguments, etc.  Those things never resolve anything.  Personally, I believe in freedom which means I'm OK with others living their freedom in a different way than me.  If I weren't, it would be conformity and not freedom I believed in. I let others show me (not tell me) who they are then decide who gets to be close.  I keep my circle small.

Fourth, Treat people with respect.  The golden rule goes a long way.  From my experience, regulars and a good reputation is what will save my ass when the hobby slows down.  I treat everyone the way I would want to be treated and make sure they leave happy and feeling they got value for their time and money.

Fifth, Earn trust.  Be honest.  I've had gentlemen tell me I'm the only provider they allowed in their home.  I've been left in a gentleman's home while he ran out to pick up food or go to the ATM.  I've been left hotel and car keys.  I've been trusted in homes with expensive things and cash laying out that was not for me.  I've waited in client's cars alone. I received deposits for FMTY meetings or money to buy things for our meetings and I'm trusted to do so. I've been given a credit card to use and give back.  Gentlemen share personal info with me knowing I will never repeat it.

Sixth, Advertise who and what you are and deliver.  Keep you pictures honest.  Say no to things you don't want to do.  Be who you.  Don't play games and enjoy what you do.

There are more things however, these are the ones that come to mind first.

I'd love to hear your opinion

I enjoyed your post, Becca - and I enjoyed the time we spent together yesterday while you were in MKE.  You're one amazing lady - both in the hobby and with your "real-life" activities.  I'm so glad I've gotten to know you - and MORE!!!  :-)

I'm curious about guy's longevity in the hobby.  I started when I was in my early thirties, so it's been 50+ years for me.  A lot of time - and money - invested but I've had a great return on that investment - pleasure, friends, and more.

I echo Becca's information about the characteristics that keep the hobby fun and memorable.

Not sure why anyone would want to treat especially you in particular that way. I’ve admired you and your reviews for years. Just haven’t been able to schedule you because of various circumstances. My messaging with you recently has been exceedingly professional. Everything you hope for with a professional. (Same with Scarlett btw!)  Just sorry you’re not here that often. Hoping I can arrange a meeting next time you’re back in Wisconsin.

Having known Becca for over 14 years now, I can attest to the fact that she is a beautiful person both inside and out.  I feel fortunate and grateful to be able to call her my friend . She is a person to be envied for her strength, character and caring attitude. Keep doing what you’re doing!
