A trip to India

At age 15 I gave up a fabulous trip to India with my parents to stay home with my girlfriend. My parents had many friends who's families are still some the biggest names in Indian and international business and it would have been an over-the-top first class trip, but I was head over heels in my first really serious relationship. I can't say it was a total loss, since I lost my virginity during that unsupervised period! Looking back, however, the girlfriend experience continued for awhile and didn't depend on my being around during those few weeks. The opportunity to travel India in that style never repeated itself, so it clearly was not one of my smarter decisions!

The most common answer I hear is giving up the motorcycle; or trading in the sports car for the minivan. What are some other examples? Obviously if you're on here - hobbying isn't one of them. ;)

I gave up a trip to Lake Tahoe in my early 20's for Spring break for a boyfriend once. Biggest mistake ever! If I could only go back. Imagine being 20 hopping in and out of boats in my bikini drinking Budweiser, lol!

I gave up going to my dream university in London for a guy I had just started dating when I was 21.  In hind sight dumbest thing ever but I also am glad I didnt waste money on a degree for a job I probably would have hated.
