Thanks for setting the record straight...

Things around here are so collectively fucked I really don't think that anything matters.

I had an epiphany...the system is systemically broken beyond all repair.

I actually think that no one can fix it...does this make me a cynic?

More like a realist...A cynic is the WSJ jerk that was on Real Time last Friday...but...don't get me wrong...Rosanne Barr is an embarrassment for/to the left as well.  What really pissed me off about the guy was his shit eating grin through the entire show...I was waiting for Garofalo to just get up and bitch slap him.

Let's see:
1. Governor with less than 2 years in office.
2. Loves the great outdoors.
3. Goes fishing.
4. Hiking.
5. Shooting.
6. Hunting.
7. Not afraid to speak their mind.
8. Enjoys the western lifestyle.
Who might that be? Geez, it's Teddy Roosevelt, of all people.

Not sure who wrote this, but it is 100% true...

I’m a little confused. Let me see if I have this straight…

* If you grow up in Hawaii, raised by your grandparents, you’re “exotic, different.”

* Grow up in Alaska eating mooseburgers, a quintessential American story.

* If your name is Barack you’re a radical, unpatriotic Muslim.

* Name your kids Willow, Trig and Track, you’re a maverick.

* Graduate from Harvard law School and you are unstable.

* Attend 5 different small colleges before graduating, you’re well grounded.

* If you spend 3 years as a brilliant community organizer, become the first black President of the Harvard Law Review, create a voter registration drive that registers 150,000 new voters, spend 12 years as a Constitutional Law professor, spend 8 years as a State Senator representing a district with over 750,000 people, become chairman of the state Senate’s Health and Human Services committee, spend 4 years in the United States Senate representing a
state of 13 million people while sponsoring 131 bills and serving on the Foreign Affairs, Environment and Public Works and Veteran’s Affairs committees, you don’t have any real leadership experience.

* If your total resume is: local weather girl, 4 years on the city council and 6 years as the mayor of a town with less than 7,000 people, 20 months as the governor of a state with only 650,000 people, then you’re qualified to become the country’s second highest ranking executive.

* If you have been married to the same woman for 19 years while raising 2 beautiful daughters, all within Protestant churches, you’re not a real Christian.

* If you cheated on your first wife with a rich heiress, and left your disfigured wife and married the heiress the next month, you’re a Christian.

* If you teach responsible, age appropriate sex education, including the proper use of birth control, you are eroding the fiber of society.

* If , while governor, you staunchly advocate abstinence only, with no other option in sex education in your state’s school system while your unwed teen daughter ends up pregnant , you’re very responsible.

* If your wife is a Harvard graduate laywer who gave up a position in a prestigious law firm to work for the betterment of her inner city community, then gave that up to raise a family, your family’s values don’t represent America’s.

* If you’re husband is nicknamed “First Dude”, with at least one DWI conviction and no college education, who didn’t register to vote until age 25 and once was a member of a group that advocated the secession of Alaska from the USA, your family is extremely admirable.

OK, much clearer now.

Governor Palin's Recipe for Moose Burgers:

1 Medium Size Moose
Fat from 3 Alaskan Legislators or one Washington Insider
2 bags of Walla Walla or Vidalia Onions
20 cloves of garlic
Pepper and Salt to taste

Mix well, grill to preference.

I saw that also. You're right about Roseanne. She doesn't appear to have a clue about what is going on. Reminds me of Barbra Streisand, "I've got money, lots of money, hear what I have to say". Rushdie had nothing to say of any importance. Garofalo sounded like she is holding on tightly to her membership card in the Marxist-Leninist Society. And the WSJ dude, I agree with you. Maher seemed a bit tame on that particular show.

Moose-first name not Roger is it? I once worked with a Roger Moose, no really. Anyway, BHO lived in many places growing up, and I'm pretty sure his grandparents lived in Kansas, not Hawaii. His community organizing project fell flat on it's face. His SEVEN years as a state senator was a part time job. State legislatures meet only about 6 months out of the year. Four years as a US senator? He was sworn in in January, 2006 and has spent the last 2 years campaigning to be the next POTUS, signing on as CO-sponser of senate legislation, (never came up with any of his own), never holding any meetings as head of the foreign affairs committee, and Veterans Affairs committee member. Come on man, he is no friend of the veterans. Oh, and sex education? He wanted to teach 'age appropriate' sex ed to kindergarteners as well. Give me a fucking break.

Kansas is correct.

Community organizing was successful.  (See Wikipedia Quote in Footnote 1 below)

Being a state senator is a full time job.  The US Senate is not in session year round either.

Obama was sworn in in January 2005, not 2006.

Obama wanted to teach children about predators.  Do you have a problem with that?  I feel for your daughter.

FOOTNOTE 1

After four years in New York City, Obama moved to Chicago to work as a community organizer for three years from June 1985 to May 1988 as director of the Developing Communities Project (DCP), a church-based community organization originally comprising eight Catholic parishes in Greater Roseland (Roseland, West Pullman, and Riverdale) on Chicago's far South Side.[13][15] During his three years as the DCP's director, its staff grew from 1 to 13 and its annual budget grew from $70,000 to $400,000, with accomplishments including helping set up a job training program, a college preparatory tutoring program, and a tenants' rights organization in Altgeld Gardens.[16] Obama also worked as a consultant and instructor for the Gamaliel Foundation, a community organizing institute.[17] In mid-1988, he traveled for the first time to Europe for three weeks and then for five weeks in Kenya, where he met many of his Kenyan relatives for the first time.[18]

OTOH I see nothing wrong with Obama's limited "sex education" for children.

I would still put "community organizer" way below small town mayor on a "strength of resume" scale. As a US senator he has done virtually nothing but run for POTUS.

Feel for my daughter? That's news to me. You know something I don't about that? Got 2 sons, errr, that's all I know of. BTW, NJ, PA, DE state legislatures are in session 6 months of the year. What about Illinois? Altgeld Gardens is a dump and still is. Footnote 1 is a pretty thin resume.

See? This board is not only for entertainment purposes, it can also be educational as well. I'm learning first hand how to spin shit, and turn it around to mean whatever, just like democrats do. James Carville, Terry McCauliffe, and Paul Begala are the masters. You're pretty good at it yourself.

his spin attempts are still pretty weak. Of course he doesn't have much material to work with. In this age of universal internet access, spin is pretty easy to debunk. Outright fabrications are even easier.

Democrats don't like Mount Rushmore, because only one of the four faces are a Democrat, and he was the only fairly good Democrat.  A token Democrat to be sure.   So show some sensitivity and lets continue the charity.

Nice try but you left out most of TR's resume. He was appointed to the US Civil Service Commission by President Benjamin Harrison,  he was Assistant Secretary of the Navy in the runup to the Spanish American War, he served as President of the NYC Police Commission and you forgot to mention why he only served two years as governor of New York: because he was elected Vice President of the U.S., assuming the Presidency when William McKinley was assassinated.

It's pretty ridiculous to try and compare Caribou Barbie's record with Roosevelt. I don't think we're going to see her on Mount Rushmore any time soon.
