Yesterday, GOP representatives killed two regulations, one of them forbidding mining corporations from dumping their waste into local waterways, the other requiring oil and gas companies to disclose payments made to foreign governments. There is no good way to spin this—no congressman can say with a straight face that these moves will create jobs or "drain the swamp" or achieve some other positive benefit for the American people. This was done to help lobbyists in Washington.
