fyi, dsl hookup is something you obtain yourself by subscribing. For example, sbcyahoo is the one I use.
she is refering to dsl hook-up port, you know the 8 pin RG port. The older laptops didn't have them, you would actually have to buy a eithernet port card and install software to use dsl/t-1.

OK, and... The port requires a plug called an rj48 which is used with highspeed, dsl, T-1, and to set up secure/firewalled wireless connections for connection. Therefore this port can be refered to any item that is phisically/passively plugged into it. A port connection commanly is simply in referance to what is plugged into it.
Sooo... This techie geek will just shut up now and find something to shove into my port!!
