It's a Miracle!

I just freed myself from my desk!  Quite literally a miracle!  For the past 6 months or so, I was resigned to accept that my laptop was dead in the area where you would normally insert a wireless card, that is what the technician said for 29.95, and for all I could figure, it was true.  Insert a wireless card, and the reaction would be nil, no green light, no blip "new hardware detected" balloon, nadda.

Today, I was getting truly frsutrated with my laptop, the darned thing kept freezing up and I would be forced to reboot and start my work all over again.  Finally, out of pure frustration, I started typing "Dear Freakin' People at Microsoft"  I was typing pretty hard and each time I would type an "a" I noticed that my cable connection would flicker.  Hmmm.  I slid the wireless card in and did some heavy typing "qwedsaqwedsaqwedsa".  Sure enough, the connection light on the wireless card was flickering!

Now, I would not normally have taken this risk, but this laptop is on its last legs anyhow, so I gave it a tap (by tap, I mean, a bang) in the area of the wireless card... the light beamed!  Like spanking a new born babes butt, the card started functioning immediately!  WOW!  I am free to type happily from my bedroom, from in front of the fireplce, even at the local coffee shop!

I realize that this might be a short lived celebration, I am not expecting this laptop to make a full recovery at all, but the freedom feels delicious and I wanted to share it!

For those of you who would like to watch me beat their laptops into submission, I will be performing in Tysons Corner on the 16th and 17th, the off to DuPont Circle on the 18th and 19th.  Diagnosis is free, but the service is 50$ off to VIP members! lol

I had a Dell which I had to pound the "s" key to get to work.  First indication that motherboard about ready to conk out and needs replacement.  But no worries, Anik, Santa will take care of your laptop replacement when you get to DC (if you can hold out till then). I promise (one of your many ardent admirers) LOL.

destined to be short lived!  Had to conk the darned thing again today because the battery wouldn't charge (now it does)!  Oh well, soon this laptop will be a part of history!  I already have a hammer to destroy the darned thing when I get back from this trip! (hehe)  BYE BYE Omnibook 4510 (yea, it is old!)

PS- it is too bad that it is not safe to donate the laptop, but the battery and CD-R drive will be donated, I promise.

Gee Anik, I thought it was BOTTOMS that you would be beating into submission...;)  As for "free diagnosis", mine would be WAY to involved to be doing for free. LOL  In fact, many around these parts think that I am impossible to diagnose....

Bottom balling?  That sounds like strap-on, to me.  Hey, I'm always game.  Better not let Jeopcon hear you talking like that, though.  That sort of discussion makes him very skiddish. LOL
