Board slamming is nothing, Paul...

I have a new peeve to vent...  Providers who advertise on their website 2 prices.  One for new clients and one for their regulars.  I ask WHY do they need to advertise that I will be paying up to $100 more for the same service the guy an hour before paid that much less?

Maybe its a consumer related thing.  I like to believe I am being treated as ALL the customers of the business.  It would be like going to Best Buy to get a new TV and seeing a sign that says if you are a previous customer you get the same prioduct for 20% off.  I know before you say it that some businesses do offer loyality a discount, but they do it with mailed coupons or some other direct mail advertising.  Furthermore, in the case where you find out about it almost ALL retail stores will honor a discount to get your business.

It just makes more sense if a provider is trying to get new clients it should go the other way, if the old client really likes the service they should be willing to pay more and the new client is offered a one time deal to see why they should pay the going rate.

Next peeve is the bitchin about no shows... I do not know why anyone would do that... This is a business and if you no show on your doctor they almost all charge you for the miss appointment.  So if you are guilty of making an appointment and just not showing up I implore you to stop doing that.  It is rude, unfair, and makes it impossible for someone else to perhaps see the provider.  The practice also makes the provider double book and as we all know that is unacceptable as well.  If you can not make an appointment call soon enough to let the girl set another one.  Be a little more respectful and maybe we will get that respect returned to us as well.

Anyway, I am sure this post will get my cheap ass slammed but I had to get this out there.

I offer a special rate for my *repeat* clients because I actually prefer to see the guys I have seen before again.
Make me feel more at ease and comfortable and it is a token of my appreciation! Alot of girls would rather see a *repeat* than someone new. Just my .02 cents babes!

Lets say a lady new to the business comes on the scene charging the average price. Ends up she provides an awesome service and is pretty much booked solid, perhaps even turning business away. She realizes she can raise her prices and still keep busy, but wants to keep her regular customers happy. The regular customers are a ladies bread and butter, just like any business. She can count on them booking fairly steadily, knows they will actually show up, does not have to worry about screening/LE, hopefully feels comfortable with them... So, in order to keep them coming back, and make them feel special, she grandfathers their prices. She may hardly need new clients, but is willing to take them on at the new price. New customers can take it or leave it, but many will realize that she raised her prices because she is worth it (or at least that is what the market thinks).

So, I have no problem with the practice. I think many ladies do it, they just don't mention the practice on their web site because it upsets guys. That might be my only recommendation to the ladies, although they may lose a few regulars who don't get the message. But in the end the call is theirs to make.

I'm friends with a touring provider that's gotten stood up a couple of times on a recent trip to DC and she was distraut about it.  Really pisssed and rightfully so.  Doing this not only screws the ladies' out of other potential business but contributes to this recently-developed reputation that DC is getting for no-shows.

I want to be grandfathered in at the previous rate when a provider raises her rates.  I think that's my reward for customer loyalty.  I'm totally fine with that practice.

my 2 cents,

For many ladies, they offer the reduced rate for different reasons, for me, it is because I am most comfortable with a person I have met previously, so truely, it makes my "work" easier.  I don't have to worry about screening them, I don't have to wonder if something bad is going to happen, if they are not going to show.

As for the no-shows or late cancellations, personally, I am tired of them, DC was never like it is now... disappointing.  Another reason why I will mostly see regulars from now on.

I didn't slam you man.. Rates are "touché" issue and ladies can charge what they please. Why keep bringing it up? I actual like the discussion myself but you know how I feel about rates..lol Don't be bashful man, if you disagree with me so be it. No one on this board opinion is better than others. I respect your views.

For fairness, all clients should be charged the same rate.  At the end of the session, if the client behaves well and is likeable, the provider should tip him to encourage his return.

Grandfathering at old rates isn't really the point of the gripe here.  It's the difference between rates the first time you see a lady vs the next time.  The OP is complaining about having to pay, lets say $400 for the first visit then $300 after that.
