After reading this forum for several months, I can't believe that such a thing exists. This has got to be one of the best kept secrets on the 'net. Men are sharing, unabashedly, their most intimate secrets about their sex lives and getting free advice from a licensed sex therapist? Not only that, but Love Goddess seems to be very well acquainted with the provider profession.(I won't ask how you are so knowledgeable about it, Love Goddess ;-)) This information is invaluable. I hope that this forum is being archived by TER. I really believe that you could publish this stuff in a best selling book. Have you or anyone at TER thought of that?

in previous threads, infomike,
But the answers are still worth repeating: In terms of being acquainted with the profession - I view it as obstetricians being experts in their field, without ever having given birth to a baby. But yes, I do have several clients who are in the provider field, LOL ;-D

As to a bestselling book, if my addled memory still serves me, the eminent "bostongreg" has suggested it as well...or was it "gandolfs" or "mrfisher?" In any case, we are all still 'gathering data,' all in the name of research of course.

Isn't it fun being a subject and an object at the same time?

I, naively, thought all these stories of sexual trysts were fantasies.  Have I been misled?  Did they really happen, or is someone figuratively yanking my chain?

LOL w/tongue firmly in cheek, guys.

I love reading what LG has to say to the questions asked here .

..and I'm thinking more than just info about the hobby. I think that this forum is a great source about male sexuality and health. A lot of myths are exploded here that would make fascinating reading to the general public

Absolutely Layla and LG has taught me a lot.
Her answers are very insightful and perceptive. Plus being well thought out and right on point.
LG has become a big addition to the board since she showed up.

InfoMike is so, so correct.  I just started visiting TER seriously (and just started seeing providers recently) and reading the "from the heart" writings on this forum have helped me to deal with issues in my own life.  I just referred a buddy of mine that is suffering through the "wife is not interested in me anymore despite what I buy her" realization to this site.  He was on the phone with me yesterday, sobbing, just knowing that other men are going through what he's experiencing.  And I'm not exaggerating this.

Personally it's taken me 10+ years to realize that nothing I could do - or was capable of doing - would change the sex life I have with my wife of 28 years.  I love her dearly and I know she loves me, but the excitement for her is long gone.  Counselors, therapists, books, movies - you name it - it just ain't gonna be the way it was.  I am still turned on just looking at her (and remembering how it was)but when the sex-spark isn't there - there's nothing to be done abou it.
We've talked about it many times outside of therapy and her answer is just "I don't want sex.  I know you do and I try to make myself do it, but I just can't."

There are some serious childhood issues for her but it's not for this discussion.  Net-net:  I either hobby or I don't get sex.

Question to you gents:  Has any of you reached a point where you can't masturbate because of anger over the rejection of your wife?  I can have sex with a provider - no problem.  But when I'm alone at home trying to J.O. - I get angry in my mind because I'm thinking "I'm 60 years old and I have to do this?!!!"

What a great forum and, to you LG - I've scoured all the past subject matter and I can tell you are a caring, wise, no B/S, person.  God sent you here to help us.   Bless you.

...the LG.  I cringe to think about hobbying without LG to bounce a question about this or that - the physical, psychological, sexual, social, developemental, evolutionary, and yes...the emotional aspects of hobbying.

BS
