Do you "filter" for poor grammar and bad spelling?

Just wondering how much it matters to you when a POT SB's profile contains really poor grammar and/or spelling errors. I get rather turned off from this, especially when the POT SB says she's a college student or has a graduate or even post-graduate degree.

Makes me wonder if the profile is fake or at least embellished, or if it's just Millennial slang and I'm just and old fart. :p

I take a lot of time to prepare and write my profile and I proof read and spell check it multiple times before I post or update.  It's important to me that I present myself as well as possible.

Have any of you ever passed due to this, or have any of you actually accepted/sent a message BECAUSE of it? Please share if you have, and tell us why you did what you did.

are rare.  The educational system has simply failed these young people.  I know of college professors lamenting the fact that their students can't assemble a few articulate paragraphs, let alone a cogent essay.  So yeah, poor writing skills are a turn off for me.  But I have learned to accept it as unfortunately common these days.  I try to look beyond it to a girl's other talents and attributes!  But when a SB also states in her profile, as some do, that they expect well written messages, it's certainly a plus in my estimation.

I don't expect articulate writing these days. Sigh. I take a lot of trouble over what I send out, and i actually PROOF READ the messages before I send them. I don't use slang and shorthand like "r u in town", and much of what I read in messages is simply appalling.

All that said, I make allowances, because the youngsters are not to blame for the educational system that has failed them. I haven't passed on responding to SBs over this issue, but god DAMN I'm attracted to the ones with something resembling decent writing!

Sure I would like to carry on a nice conversation with them, but their looks and skills in the sack determine how much I am willing to spend on them. So spelling and grammatical errors don't bother me too much as long as I can understand what they are trying to say. Having said that, I do avoid the ones who write like they text.

But there are limits.  In addition, someone who writes well moves up the priority list, and someone whose writing is poor moves down.

How often do we all butcher our sentence or words.  Yes, it is troubling to see how poor the grammar and attention to spelling.  I for one have gotten lazy in my own writing, spelling, and grammar.  All the autocorrect, auto spell, and auto grammar programs in the word can't fix it.  Plus sometimes those programs are wrong too.  Hell, how do you think principium became princess and SFTD became STD!! LOL

but with my  bad eyes and a small screen I often send texts that after further review sometimes make no sense due to autocorrect.

Now that's a far cry from someone who types on a computer in text speak which IMHO is simply laziness, but I am like most guys, here and everywhere else. The hotter the girl, the more likely I am to overlook it and the less likely I am to become a pedantic putz about it. lol

I just haven't butcher his name yet.  But hang on, I'm sure I'll do it one of these days.

In all fairness, the lovable ABC arschloch was always courteous to me when he was a Mod on TER GD yonks ago, so I am not a disrespectful d*ckwad like the Rat to address GaGa as Lady GaGa! Haha!

HEY NOW!  I did not call him Lady GaGa.  I was laughing at the other poster asking why I hadn't morphed is name into Lady GaGa

Lady GaGa has been tried in the past and never got any traction.

GaGamblerthatfuckingasshole got some early traction but proved to be a PITA to type. lol

Of course his comments about switching to looking for men to see what other men's profiles looked like and then confessing to having a fake SB account didn't help him any.  Me being a d*ckwad had little to do with his nickname sticking. LOL

BUT it just makes you wonder if he's the one who tricked SFTD into a date... LMAO.

Just being the d*ckwad I am and busting your hops Princess.

I have had quite a few women (don't forget that I seek true college grads) who complimented me on my style of writing plus the proper use of words, correct spelling (for the most parts when i bother to proof read), syntax and grammar. They had told me as to how badly educated some of these POT SDs seem to be specially those who claim to be older and the captains of industry types.

IMHO, the essence of this topic goes in both directions but it is more important for a high status man (purportedly and supposedly) to have a very good command of the language and on top of his writing skills. Knowing a few $10 words to sprinkle over here and there does not hurt either. Like someone else had already stated up thread, I also avoid the ones who write as if they're texting or tweeting. That truly is my Litmus Test! (more for StfD I suppose ;) )

I at least try to write to the standards I desire from others. I recently had my ATF (TER listed, not SB) write me that she got a booking on the basis of my review of her and the client specifically complimented my writing. I put a lot of effort into those.

With SBs, it's a mixed bag. I have one ongoing conversation, that has not yet even progressed to "coffee (although I have hopes!) in which we did a long segway into the nature of mathematics and how it maps onto the physical world, and why that is. In other cases, they don't give a fuck, while in still others, use of a word like "bereft" leaves them clearly bewildered.

I don't have a clear takeaway on all this, other than the women we're interested in here, be it TER, p4, SA, etc, are not being filtered for their brains. Still, it is nice to find one with a brain, in addition to the other interesting attributes.

You took a long ride on a two-wheeled vehicle? (Segway) Or your discussion morphed into another topic? (Segue).

Next you'll be telling me she peaked your curiosity. (Pique)

Those damn homophones get you every time....

(Just giving you a hard time, b/c I couldn't resist, given the topic)

Some have just had their brains fucked out some much there isn't anything left and the ones that can read and write haven't been fucked enough.

Could be that the illiterate are the good looking ones which would explain why their brains have been fucked out of them.  The others may be good looking but just haven't had enough fucking to become illiterate or they are butt ugly.

Just a thought.

Thanks for your comments.

I think there is a consensus around "hotness" tending to negate poor spelling/grammar issues. It's what I expected and what I practice as well.

I too, have been complimented for my well-written messages. Perhaps that's really just part of her strategy to pump up my ego, perhaps it's genuine.

One observation that may play into the trend is the form factor/device used to write these messages.  I see a theme in the replies that assumes all POT SB's are using a PC to interact with SA (as us 'old guys' probably do most of the time). But these are Millennials, and the preferred device and UI (user interface) is a phone. It's the same device they use for texting, snapping, facebooking, listening to music, watching vids/movies, and (rarely!) actually writing an email.   That might make the use of "text speak" in messages to us more understandable, if not acceptable.

Side note: How often have you happened to look at your SB's phone and seen the battery charge over 70%?  50%? How about 30%? Personally I can't stand the idea of letting my phones (I carry 2, one for work one personal) get below 50% and I try to keep them over 80% as much as possible. I can't afford to not have an operational phone at all times; my work is too critical. I keep 2 live iPhone cables plugged into my car and always offer one to my SB while we drive.

Still - banging hot 20-somethings (or even 18-19 somethings) makes all these issues trivial

I check for grammar, spelling and punctuation and grade all the pot SBs. The one with the higher scores get to meet me. Jk or course
