They said they'd mail the results. I think that would be a crappy way to find out if something tested positive. Do most places do this to keep results confidential?
It's standard operating procedure, unless you have the test administered by your personal doctor, in which case he calls and asks if you're sitting down. Perhaps you would prefer to have two Marines show up at your door, accompanied by a Naval chaplain. LOL. I'm sure confidentiality is and issue here. You didn't mention where you got tested. Be patient and don't get too paranoid. Just my 2 cents.
About how common it was to get results mailed to you. Thanks for the reply.

They were mistaken.
It's the wait that can make you worry about things, but if you are being safe then waiting for the reply shouldn't be such a worry. lol
Typically, this is what they do.. They mail it to you..
Just like when they say
"we suspect cancer"
We 'll take these tests and get back to you in 2-4 weeeks. dont call us. we'll call you.
When they say "We'll call you if we find anything, and we won't call you if you're clean."
Well then you sit there wondering if they haven't called because they forgot to, or because they did call and you missed their call, or because you're actually clean.
So you have to wait like 6 months before you're sure that they really didn't find anything. :P
