This can be answered by hobbyists as well as comments welcome from providers....
I am brand new to the hobby. I'm curious to know from hobbyists if you are in the hobby for some of the same reasons I am beginning in it, and I'm curious to know from hobbyists and providers if my situation is typical or unusual...
I am, for the most part, a fairly happily married early 40's business professional with 3 great kids at home;however, The sex life at home has become quite vanilla to me at least and frankly my wife thinks it is fine that way....it may be for her, but it is not for me. I have communicated this many times but she is really unenthused about giving BBBJTCCIM...she never really liked it and did it more out of a sense of obligation and now she really doesn't want to do that or anal anymore except on very special occasions...we've had several discussions about it, and she is who she is...she's just not into those activities(never was happy to do them anyway which kind of spoils the mood ) and will only do it once in a blue moon.
My choices are to do nothing and accept it, have an affair, or have a special friend once in awhile to meet the needs I am not really getting at home.
Im curious to know, since I am strongly considering seeing providers who specialize in french completion, if my situation is typical of my marrid men like myself want to see providers...additionally, what is the best way to obtain references when just starting out as a hobbyist ?

It is all about the decision made to choose a particular person to begin with. I am affraid that little more thought is given to the obligations of marriage than are given to buying a car. It is easy to get rid of a car, surviving a marriage and being happy is a totally different ballgame. The lack of deep thought concerning compatibilty of goals, temperaments and personal needs in marriage is most likely at the root of why the odds of the happy looking couple on the Sunday wedlock pages today is no better than one would get by rolling two dice, looking for a given number to pop out.
Thats what girlfriends are for. I had similiar conversation with my fiance once. To which I replied, well, don't be surprised when I start fucking a 22 year old.

Have been with my SO since I was in high school, going on 20 years. Never a problem with sex, she's horny as hell all the time. We still do it several times a week, and everything is on the menu. My problem is not with her, I love her dearly, it's with me. By getting together so early in life, I took myself out of the ballgame and never got to experience any variety. Fortunately, I am in a financial position to live out some of my fantasies nad make up for lost time, so to speak. All that being said, I can't see myself ever having an affair with another woman, my opinion on that is that the emotional bond created by that relationship (the affiar) is much more damaging to all involved than the physical sex. Alas, here I am on TER...

Yeah, that sounds about right. I tried the affair thing for a while, but that is so subject to timing and courting that it's hardly worth the effort. Not to mention the possibilty of emotional attachment and, God forbid, guilt. I was then introduced to the rub & tug scene by a friend of mine. That sufficed for a time, but then I wanted that gfe experience that you get from an affair without the inconvenience of another relationship. Hence my hobbying career began. It's awesome, so don't delay.
Seems like I'm in the right place. BTW, some of you guys are lucky. I don't get anything at home. I was going to try the affair thing, but the one I wanted got cold feet when she realized I was serious. I stumbled upon TER while using on line personals to find someone to cheat with. Like someone else said, this seems better because there is no emotional attachment. I am not an official member of the club. I tried a couple of times this week, but scheduling conflicts kept me from meeting anyone. Next week will be a different story.

For what ever reason you have decided to hobby, take comfort in the fact that it was the right reason. You don't need validation from us.

2/3 of hobbyists are either married or have a SO that just aint doing it for them any more. There is a reason why wedding cake is Vanilla. It represents the kind of sex you're going to have until you finally divorce. I still contend that if you offered $$ or more to a wife/SO every time they gave you the sex you desire they would become as licentiously dissolute as the most full service 10 rated provider with a TER
profile(for a while that is). Then after a while they would go back to taking you for granted. It's human nature. Just as a male will always want to "do" yet another female.
In regards to getting your feet wet so to speak Your just going to have to be open and accommodating in the ladies screening process. Once you have one or more references/reviews to your name it will seem more like a friendly stampede to make your acquaintance.
Here is a tip- Choose a lady with a good/consistant review history. Research and READ her profile and several reviews(great & not-so-great) be "yourself" when you talk to them on the phone and don't be stupid and ask them questions that are already answered in their profiles.
