Hi everyone! I'm new to TER sort of. Anyway, I'm an independent provider, I'm in need of a website and banner ect. the only problem is I can only afford to make payments not a BIG upfront price. Does anyone know where I can find someone to help?
Be wary of offers to trade your services for a website. It often leads to trouble.
You don't need an expensive, fancy site. A simple one is fine. What really matters is the content. Good, recent photographs and clear, concise information are what men seem to appreciate most.
Buy your own domain. It's inexpensive, and you should own your own domain--not a webmaster or a boyfriend or a client or another provider. At http://godaddy.com , you can buy it and get private registration, https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/dbp/landing.asp?se=%2B&ci=257 . They can host your website for you, too.

The offer to trade for a website sounds pretty innocuous. As a matter of fact, I have done several of them with photos for dirt cheap. What are the pitfalls?
Also be careful of godaddy. I have several clients who lost their URL's when they tried to switch hosting. My advice - get your url through an accepted naming comapny so it is yours forever. It is very inexpensive. Then go shopping for a good hosting company. I usually recomment one that is $5 a month and has tremendous storage capabilities and security. For less than $75 a year you have a killer website you can be proud of.
By all means avoid geocity. I could type for hours about them. Play safe.
A VERY cheap way to get started is with a Yahoo "geocities" web page. The basic is free however it has an extremely narrow band-width causing it to come down temporarily if you get even a moderate amount of hits in a day. For approximately $9.00/month you can upgrade it to a wider band with with no obligatory ad banners on the right side of your page.
CAUTION!!! Yahoo is somewhat intolerant/unfriendly to the hobby so your ad copy and picture(s) should be kept as conservative as possible or Yahoo will soon pull your ad.
