I remember stories about women getting up in the middle of the night and cleaning house, and of course there was one of the Kennedys that was pulled over after taking it. I told my ex I was going to buy paint for the porch and give her an Ambien and wake up to a painted porch. She was not amused. We also limited the dosage to 5mg in the hospital I work in to reduce falls from people getting out of bed at night.
My ex-husband has always been insomniac. Falling asleep and staying asleep. He wasn't medicated while we were married, but did tend to get up in middle of night and drink milk out of the gallon and eat any sweets he could find. He wouldn't remember a thing.

He would do all this and fall back asleep with no recollection even before Ambien.
I'm sorry lol, I just envisioned a guy pulling into the driveway at 6am with his pissed off wife standing in the door way tapping her foot and the guy steps out of his car, walks up to his his wife, looks her dead in the eye and says, "So, you said I was keeping you up at night because I couldn't sleep, so I went to the doctor and got some Ambien. I took it last night and, ok here we go...long story short honey, I got up, called an escort, drove to her in-call, had sex with her, and then drove back here....and it's all because of these stupid meds. Which I, by the way, I took for you.....that's right honey, for you. So can we go back to me watching TV and having a couple of beers for a few hours after you've gone to bed or should we stick with this Ambien thing?" Door. Slammed. In. Face.
