It's just amazing overall. The surroundings are breathtaking. The people are both beautiful and amazingly friendly. The hot springs are awesome and have excellent health benefits. You can actually sit in a hot spring and have drinks served to you. The tours are fun too. Highly recommend!

I'm planning some major life changes and traveling will be at the top of the list. I have been blessed to travel to apx 32 countries in my 45 years. At one time I had hoped to do one country a year but unfortunately for the last four years I have only left Florida 2x and both were for funerals. I made a map list today of places only in the US I want to travel to and would love to know where your favorite place has been & why?
Beaches, hiking, sightseeing, shopping etc?
I have only been to twenty states in the US so lots of trips to be planned - once I've been to all the states then I will look to travel internationally again.
Ladies do you make time to see the areas you provide in if touring

Got a chance to go there in January ;) each island is unique in its own way but my favorite is the Big Island ;) It looks like a before ice age kind of place and the only thing missing are dinosaurs lol
I do try to do a few local things everywhere I go even if it's just going out and getting acquainted with the place.

KO"

I loved the beaches such as Magen's Bay. And across the bay there's St, John's and Trump Bay. Both Rated one of the world's most beautiful beaches.... would love to go back.

Lake Powell. Or any houseboat trips on general

At least that is my favorite so far. Not for touring but for fun and relaxation....or a paid weekend getaway with a gentleman.

My fave places I've toured and visited in the US are Arizona, Utah, San Diego in Cali, Savannah, Charleston, South beach Miami and the mid west. Next year I plan to tour and travel here for months from Spring visiting all the east coast from Nova Scotia down, and the Pacific Northwest, and Wyoming and the Dakotas

I'm writing this from a non hobby point of view, and purely from a joy of travel POV.

Within the US, for natural beauty there is no place like Glacier National Park, especially if you enjoy back country hiking. Even the day hikes there though, are not over crowded. I just love it. Keep in mind that the season is fairly short because of snow fall. late July and August are best if you want a back country experience where the high passes aren't snow covered. The Going to the sun road is generally only passable late June through late September.
A close second is Yellowstone, with its magnificent geological formations. It can get a bit crowded in the summer for my tastes though, and I recommend spring before the kids get out of school.
For coastal beauty, I generally prefer warm water, but that is hard to find in the US with a location I also love. I lived in Mexico for several years though, so if you want some suggestions there, I can help. For the US, if you don't mind cold water, then the coast of Maine is quite gorgeous and wild, and makes a lovely summer road trip (I'll fly up, rent a car, and just spend some time driving up the coast). The same goes for the PNW also.

For cities, I absolutely love Chicago! I've lived all over, but keep coming back here. The art, the music, the food, and the lake front! It really is fantastic. And if you don't mind a suggestion just north of boarder, Montreal is another favorite. It has similar offerings to Chicago, but smaller and with a French accent.

Have fun!!

Especially in the summer when it's nice and humid...it might sound strange, but this southern girl loves the hot summers that far south (and my science-y side has a blast chasing anoles).  Plus the fact that there's a lovely little beach under an hour away - it's got everything I want out of a favourite vacation spot.

Been to Seattle every year for the last three, with plans to make it four sometime in the next four months. Great vibes all around that town...

I've been to, and can recommend, lots of places.  My current city, of course, has the Mall of America.  Or if you want some beautiful scenery, you can check out Duluth and Lake Superior.  If you go to Wisconsin, State Street in Madison or Wisconsin Dells are a must.  When in Seattle, make sure you check out Pike's Market on the waterfront, and the Space Needle.  Portland, Oregon has good food, a nice zoo, and is known for its libertine sexual attitudes.  Alaska contains some of the most beautiful untamed wilderness in the world, and its ferry system serves excellent food in their cafeterias.  You could also take the Alaska highway into western Canada, which is very beautiful country.  Texas has good food almost everywhere you go.  OK, I could go on, but I'm cutting myself off before this turns into a novel.
