I hadn't even heard of it until I read this. There are about 180,000 hotels and motels in the USA.  According to a news article,  about 40,000 members are striking.  So it seems like most hotels and motels are not affected.

and neither one had any warning about a strike impacting their service.  It might be confined to the low-end chain hotels.

Yes, several of these low-end chains:

"The Unite Here union, which represents more than 40,000 workers, has been locked in contract negotiations with several big hotel chains, including Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and Omni. "

Well, technically the Ritz is part of Marriott so could technically be considered part of the list FNM put up. Maybe.

Most of the woman I tend to see usually stay Hilton or Marriott hotels.  I tend to avoid those who use Red Roof and cheaper chains.  The Hyatt hotels where I live are all at least $250 a night and I doubt any butt the real high end will go there.   Omni is a bit too small to affect most of us, except if someone is happening to stay there and goes for outcall.
