I have done that one other time, years ago, and it takes about 2 1/2 hours but I didn't hit any real traffic. That would be about my limit I think, maybe up to 3 hours max.

I'm in Los Angeles. Between the local and touring providers, as much as some that don't come here attract me, I don't feel the need. There are always more I want to see here than I can, so I'm okay settling for those that don't require me to travel. Also, I travel 1-2 times a year for work and take advantage of cities I'm traveling to when on the company dime.

I am definitely envious of those that live in LA. I guess I wouldn’t even consider it given the options available there. I am also in Los Angeles, so plenty of options within a 1-hour drive, which is my limit for a "must-see" pro. And my limit is 30 minutes of driving for to meet a potential Sugar Baby for the 1st time.
But if I really had a bucket-list objective that wasn't likely to tour here, I would find a reason to travel to her city and schedule time for my dream date as part of that trip. I love occasional travel. Every location has something that's interesting, historic, fun or relevant to me. If I saw that bucket-list provider's schedule matching with a desired destination, I'd build (and have built) a 3-7 day trip to go there.

I flew 3 hrs for my ATF twice but not going to do that again.
