I WENT TO A HOTEL TO MEET A YOUNG LADY BY OHARE...I MET A GUY ON THE THIRD FLOOR, HE SAID HE NEEDED MY ID AND THE $250. HE THEN SAID GO TO ROOM 915. HE WOULDN'T GIVE MY ID BACK AND SAID IT WOULD BE RETURNED AFTER I MET THE GIRL. I STARTED WALKING TO THE ROOM AND KNOCKED WITH NO ANSWER. I THEN CALLED THE # AGAIN. THE GUY ANSWERED AND SAID HE WAS SGT. SOMETHING WITH THE IL. STATE POLICE AND I WOULD GET MY LICENSE BACK IN THE MAIL WITH A TICKET FOR SOLICITATION. HE TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO TELL MY STORY TO THE JUDGE! HELP! IS THIS LEGIT? I THOUGHT THEY ARRESTED YOU FOR THIS KIND OF STUFF??? SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!!

This is a scam that has been done to other visting girls in NYC but it could catch on in Chicago.

In the NYC situation, the guy is some punk off the street and does not know the clients name. But he asks are you here to see "Claudia, whatever her name is ".

He then takes the money and give the gentleman is receipt with a photocopy of her web site or the Eros ad and receipt written on it.

He then sends him to her room and she is not in on it and she is typically shocked and the client is pissed and she is in a quandry whether or not to give the guy a free session.

So, in this case she may or may not have been in on it.

The fact that she didnt answer does not seem to me that she was in on it and that she was a well reviewed girl.

IF she does not mention anything about a guy collecting the money ..... DO NOT GIVE THE MONEY TO ANYONE OTHER THAN THE LADY !!!

I do hope that you get your license back in the mail and that this is the LAST you hear of it.

In this case... I'm doubting there was ever even a lady.  And I'm quite certain that was NOT an officer.

I agree, if it was LE I'm fairly sure he would have at least shown you a badge.  You may want to report your license as stolen and be on the look out for fradulent credit card use in your name.  Also keep an eye on your credit report.  Some of the services puport to guard you against identity theft.  It might be worth the money.

....  To get them back send $5000 to the address below, in small, unmarked bills.  Also, please complete purchase of suspension span bridge in Kings County, New York.  Off. Muldoon.

Baby!  That was no police officer, that was someone stealing money from you and posing as a police officer!  Next time, DO NOT give your $$ up front to anyone.  Especially not some guy who you don't know.  I am so sorry this happened to you!
And yes, in answer to your question you WILL be arrested if the police are involved in a sting, they WILL show their badges to you.  No ifs, ands, or buts...

Where is the warning to the Chicago Board about the lady you were supposed to be seeing, the hotel, the agency etc.? I am sorry if you were scammed in this way, but I am also looking at you squinting my left eye that you are conning all of us.

I went to see Naughty Nikki from Craigslist, http://chicago.craigslist.org/ers/132006843.html  & I went to Rosemont, the Hyatt on River Road! I believe in what goes around comes around...this guy will get his someday!

Hope you are going to be okay. The hobby is fraught with potholes and you ran into one. Stick with the well-reviewed ladies for a while to restore your confidence. Also, I think it is still a good idea if you post your episode to the Chicago Board. She's got multiple reviews (all pretty good) from guys who've seem to have been around awhile. I'd also contact them and exchange info.

I am wondering if the provider that the gentleman was going to see, was in on the scam?

How would the con artist know where/when to show up to take the money/I.D.?  Does anyone have any more info on this????

i used to work in a hotel in rosemont and i agree with the people who say you were probably robbed, but rosemont's police force is not exactly the boy scouts so it might have been a police officer you were ripped off by.

i hope that besiddes losing your cash you didnt also have your identity stolen.

good luck
