Agency screening process?

Just wondering what the screening process for agencies is like.  A lot of the providers I am interested in are of course working for an agency.  I go to these agency websites and they require an in-person interview and all kinds of info.  It's quite intimidating.  So I'm hoping some people here can shed a little more light as to exactly what they ask and how it all goes.
Thanks.

An in person interview seems pretty excessive!  I am a phone op for a reputable agency in Phoenix, and I can tell you that for incall, we require 2 provider references.  As for outcall, references are great, but not required. We try to encourage gentlemen to at least put the booking fee on a credit card as a means of ID verification, but sometimes that is not possible for the client.  So instead I just try to get a sense of whether he is a local or a business traveller, what his line of work is, whether he has a business card and/or flight itinerary to show the provider, a cell phone number, and if he is in a hotel, I need his real first and last name to I can verify that he is registered at the hotel.  That's about it!  Well, that and your SAT scores! (just kidding ;) )

wow i have never heard of an in-person interview, can you post a link to the website of the agency you are referring to?

Well, this is one of them.  Go to the "Join Us" page.

Also, regarding needing two references from other providers - I have only seen two providers before.  The most recent one was over a year ago and I don't think she's in the game anymore.  The first one was two years ago and I doubt she would really remember me.  What should I do?

will require information that you have available and can produce. I would stay away from any agency or independent that requires an "in-person" interview. You may end up interviewing for a session in court.
