or has the MLB strike zone gotten ridiculously wide this year. I've watched a lot of games, with a lot of different umpiring crews, and it's not just one or two crews. It seems to be all across the league, more in the American league, than the National. If memeory serves me correctly, the strike zone is supposed to be 22" wide, but seems to have picked up an extra 4-5" on both sides of the plate. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.
Yes, the few games I've seen appear to have a bigger strike zone. A lot of more arguments on strikes and balls than usual, it seems.
Then it seems like pitches delivered into the third row are being called strikes. lol
Giants / San Diego game and a LOT of high strikes. The old "knees to letters" seems to be umpire school instructions now.
Many more higher strikes than I can remember and I'm an avid baseball fan.
However, nothing better than NITRO.
