Braves retire Glavine's number 47.

The Atlanta Braves will retire the #47 worn by Tommy Glavine, who won 244 games with them in 17 years. I disagreed with his labor stance during the 1994 players' strike, but it didn't diminish my respect and admiration for him on the field. Not many people know that he was drafted by the L.A. Kings in the 1984 NHL draft, ahead of Brett Hull and Luc Robitaille. Way to go Tom, it was pleasure watching you.

Glad to see that as well. I've met many of those guys over the years and Tommy has always been very polite and cordial. Can't say the same for Chipper Jones...pretty much a schmuck.

Too bad as a Met he gave up 7 first inning runs to the Marlins in the last and most important game of the season.
