In a previous post, I attached the List of the 15 Agencies that constitute the market. In this one, I offer a List of the so-called Adult Talent Agencies, which in the porn industry represents the main channeling avenue to become a porn star. This is not the only channel, and in the last decades with the explosion of ‘amateur, gonzo and MILF’ genre of porn, female talents does not need the ‘mediation’ of an agency to get into the industry. Still, the agencies are the main avenue to get into porn, perform with the major studios and building a career. How short or long that career may be, well, that is another story.
There are two reasons to have a List of Adult Talent Agencies in the hobbyist ‘toolkit.’
The first one is that many posts on the PS Board are about 411 for new talent. As we now, performing on camera is not equivalent to escorting, and many posts make that inference without any contextual and substantial ‘fact.’ As soon some new talent shoot a scene someone is going to ask the usual question: “Does she provide?” Well, for one she just started shooting porn. Secondly, there is no direct correlation between being a porn star and escorting. To find that correlation some legwork is necessary: And that introduce the second reason.
Which is the following: Anyone who deal with porn stars MUST become familiar with both the upstream (the Adult Talent Agencies) and the downstream (Escort Agencies) channels of the market. Knowing about one is not enough. You need to understand that both play a role. Think of the upstream and the downstream channels are the Janus face: When you see one, flip it and you will see the other. Now, many times the two faces are purely coincidental, but in many others, they are not.
Doing your legwork means tracing the connection between a porn star and her upstream and downstream avenues. When asking “Does she provides?’ you are formally seeking information about those avenues and if you do not know both your information will be partial and in many case incorrect: that is, if “she indeed’ provide the Escort Agencies will know, and if they do not know, you can research if she is actually ‘doing porn.’ In between the two, you will find important clues about what you asking about. With hundreds of new performers appearing each few months, it is very hard to determine how many of them will make the jump from upstream to downstream. In any case, monitoring both avenues is a skill that any senior hobbyist should master and command. That skill will help you to ‘ask’ the right questions, not the one who no one can answer.
Remember that performing porn is not a necessary and sufficient condition to jump into the escort business, but certainly ‘knowing’ who actually perform in a given time, may be an important source of information to determine if you are asking a question that may have an answer or not. Asking, “she provides?’ for someone who has shoot couple of scenes on anyone of the 5 internet companies (Naughty America, Bang Bros, IC Porn/Reality Kings, Traffic Cash Gold, and Brazzers), or for any other studios or amateur internet sites, is likely to get unanswered. However, knowing ‘if’ she is actually signed with an Adult Talent Agency, it may be the only way to know if she is passing by or staying for a while. In the last few years, with the rise of the new internet companies the so-called ‘life-shelf’ of a performer has been dramatically reduced, so more and more new performers are popping in each month. The turn over is becoming faster and faster, which result in the fact that more and more 411 are popping out on the PS Board. The following List does not answer any question, it simply avoid to asking the wrong one, or help to trace the correct path that may lead to a possible answer.
The key is to use both the Escort Agencies and the Adult Talent Agencies Lists as a source for doing your legwork, having TER Database of reviews and the PS Board posting history among porn stars always on your desktop. A simple coordinated research of these four sources may well answer your question…
