I think jail time is necessary. He been convicted by a jury of his peers of 34 felony counts. He will show no contrition to the probation office or to the judge. He will continue to attack and undermine the legitimacy of the judicial process. The only place for a recalcitrant felon like him is behind bars.
Trump will never show remorse so LACK of remorse will be a factor in aggravation.
Another factor in mitigation is age. “Your Honor - my client is too old to go to jail.”
But Trump won’t let his lawyer claim he’s too old. It would look bad. Trump will sabotage his own defense.

The jury selection was fair. Each side was able to strike citizens they didn't want to hear the case. A couple of jurors got their news from Fox and one from truth social, and yet they voted to convict. The crimes were committed in New York City and that's where trump was indicted and prosecuted. Don't do the crime if you can't do the time.
