the storm.   I want to send everyone especially our P&R friends,  no matter the side your on,  (LOL)  who lives along the eastern seaboard of the U.S, best wishes and safety

A word of advice from one who has had my share of hurricanes, the house can take care of itself. Get everyone out of harms way. You can check on it later, no use risking life or limb. There is hardly anything you can do to help the situation during the height of the storm. The tidal surge can not only come close to the house it can consume the house.  You can always build another house but can't replace a life.

Blessings to ALL

I was considering whether I should evacuate, but some friends of mine who live in Florida who have been through these things a few times told me I don't have anything to worry about.

I expect to lose power sometime Monday, and I'm staying home from work. I don't think any of the trains will even be running tomorrow.

But I got a few gallons of bottled water, stocked up on batteries, and plenty of firewood. So long as no trees come down on my head, I should be fine. Knock on wood.
