long story short...I would like to try somethings I have not done w/an escort. I have had a BBBJ but no DATY...not even sex as I am not use to the Condoms (longterm relationships in the past etc.) Anyway, doesn't anyone seem concerned with STD's etc. when giving oral or receiving?  Seems a little scary and yes HIV etc. can be transmitted that way. Am I missing something as many clients seem to review that "Oral" was great.  Should we not be concerned here?  Give me advice as to what some of you think.  Thanks!!!

Here are some tips:

1) Get used to using condoms.  Unless you know the woman, and are in a longterm relationship, unprotected sex, whether with a provider or a civvie girl, is not a great idea.

2) I love DATY, but I understand your concern.  Yes STD's can be transmitted by giving or receiving oral.  The risk isn't great, but it is there.  If the risk is too great, think about using a dental dam (see link below).

3)Most of the well-reviewed providers share your concern.  Each has set her own rules as to what is available based on her assessment of the risks.

4) Because this is the lady's livelihood, most top top providers get themselves tested for STD's on a regular basis.  This is something a regular hobbyist should also do.

of STD's in this hobby... you have to make the decision is it worth it for you personally?  My own opinion - years of a lot of fun in this hobby with DATY - no STDs (I do get myself tested regularly).
As for condom use, you may want to search out a provider who uses the female condom, which for me at least, leads to a more realistic and pleasurable experience.
Last suggestion... check out the Erotic Highway board on TER... Love Goddess there is the board monitor - her wisdom is something to be appreciated for the new and the seasoned folks.

although stds are always a concern, if you stay with the "good professional providers" you should be safe. The pros take care of themselves and get tested regularly. I enjoy being pleased but the ultimate high for me is when i pleasure a woman prior to engaging in intercourse. It makes it all worthwhile, she is more responsive and giving lover and the slight risk is well worth it.

See the link below for a quick risk chart with informative links from there.

Just for your education:  there has not been any documented cases of HIV transmission from oral sex.  Other STDs, yes, but not HIV.

Indeed, YES, but the other "H" is just as bad.

Huh? There have been at least 21 case reports of oral intercourse leading to HIV infection, as of 1998. Some of those cases were female-to-female oral-genital contact. One case is of a man with a history of oral sex with one extramarital female partner, a prostitute. Go to aidsonline.com and do a search for the article "Oral Transmission of HIV" from the journal AIDS. Though 21 is an infinitesimal number, it's not the same as none.

OK, that article states:
Since 1987, there have been 21 case reports of 42 potential instances of oral transmission (Table 2). Given the thousands of cases of HIV infection that constitute the denominator, such a set of reports would appear to emphasize the rarity rather than the likelihood of the event. The infrequency of case reports may rest, in part, with the difficulty of providing credible validation of the absence of simultaneous risks. In fact, the common thread in these case reports is investigators' considerable efforts to document an exposure other than oral. The rarity of reported oral transmission may be, in part, the result of the rarity with which oral exposure occurs alone, and the hesitancy to assign transmission to oral activity in the presence of simultaneous risks. However, the fact that it appears to confer greater risk when it is the dominant (although not exclusive) behavior [24] gives impetus to the task of sorting out the contribution of oral intercourse to transmission."

What does it say?  POTENTIAL transmissions.  Not documented actual transmissions.  It also goes on to state that some of those cases exhibited more than oral contact.

Take it as you want - a potential vector for disease transmission is not a documented vector for disease transmission.

You asserted that there were zero documented instances of oral transmission. I provided an article which documented potential instances of transmissions. You contend that potential transmission is not actual transmission and that some cases were more than oral contact, even though some were exclusively oral contact.

A CDC fact sheet dated December 2000, defines documented risk as "transmission that has actually occurred, been investigated, and documented in the scientific literature." That means documented actual transmissions. Though it states that the instances of transmission during oral-vaginal contact was "most likely", it doesn't use such qualifiers for oral-penile or oral-anal.

Documented Risk of HIV Transmission During Oral-Penile Contact:
Although the risk is many times smaller than anal or vaginal sex,  HIV has been transmitted to receptive partners through fellatio, even in cases when insertive partners didn't ejaculate ("cum").

Documented Risk of HIV Transmission During Oral-Vaginal Contact:
The risk of HIV transmission during cunnilingus is extremely low compared to vaginal and anal sex.  However, there have been a few cases of HIV transmission most likely resulting from oral-vaginal sex.

Documented Risk of HIV Transmission During Oral-Anal Contact:
There has been one published case of HIV transmission associated with oral anal sexual contact.

I don't mean to cause a scare and say you will get HIV from oral sex. I only wish to state that there have been documented cases and there exists a very-low risk for HIV transmission during oral sex.
