'You-know-who', a former assistant Hennepin County attorney, pleaded guilty Tuesday to three felony counts of promoting prostitution. The lack of jail time recognized his severe health problems, said Jim Dahlquist, 'the defendants' attorney. He could be sent to jail if he violates his probation, and was ordered to pay a sum to a women's advocacy group.
I am glad to hear that no jail time will be served for this victimless crime.
The whole thing reminds me of a movie I saw more than once. Lots of smoke, a few fireworks, lots of storm troopers brandishing blasters and an entrance befitting Darth Vadar. In short typical LE tactics....

Meanwhile certain elements of the LE community get to strut around like they actually accomplished something useful and helped protect the public with the tax money they spent.
They took a dangerous, afflicted, wheel-chair bound senior citizen off the streets. We can all take a deep breath now. How'd you like to meet that guy in a dark alley, huh? He might call his nurse over to beat you with a sponge. Hell, he might even talk you into...*gasp* getting laid.
I know I feel safer. No one will risk the lives of infants, baby ducks, and polite society anymore by seeing prostitutes! Sex doesn't sell itself afterall, we needed him for that.
I just hope they put the rest of those dubiously named "Nice Guys" away. Don't want any nice guys running around having consentual sex with women. How are the pimps, criminally insane, and sex offenders supposed to get THEIR appointments with heavy bank-rolled nice guys stealing all the action? It's an attrocity.
My hat goes off Sgt Snyder and the vice squad. I hope their next valliant mission is to rid our streets of all of those deadly Ice Cream trucks. Someone might get a cavity!
Snyder and the rest of the tight-asses should wear super hero costumes. The only down side is that our liberal court system is actually releasing this dangerous monster to walk, er, roll the streets. Think of the children!
he was never charged with a crime until a few weeks ago. Nobody was until two weeks ago.
It is not possible to request a speedy trial until you are charged with a crime. If you do, you might as well head straight to jail because you in essence are admitting guilt.
I think the law states you have to be charged within 72 hours of arrest if LE wants to continue to hold you in jail otherwise you have to be released. If released, you can certainly be charged at a later date after the investigation is concluded.
LE certainly played by the rules with regards to his arrest, release and subsequent charges. Cutting a plea deal for **** was probably the smartest decision local DA has made in sometime.
