I remember when Citypages was the hot website, then it went to CL (remember the old CL reviews) and Eros, then Cityvibe and now BP...Just like anything else in fashion it comes and goes.
From what I have heard, Eros is expensive. Their business model (silimar to the newspaper) may go away soon if they charge too much. The Internet is cheap so charging anymore than a buck or two for an ad is too much IMHO.
I have often wondered what will be the next advertising webiste replacing BP in the future.
I find that BP and other free (or low price) web sites are full of a number of rip-off and poor quality providers. Most of them are not worth the cost of a phone call. I will not call a lady that only advertises on Backpage. If she has paid for an ad, she is serious about being in the business.
But there have been scams, rip offs, and fake pics all over Eros (yes, alot more on BP). However, just because you pay more for an ad doesn't guarantee anything really. There was a post a while ago saying something like 30% of eros ads use fake pics even though the providers may be real.
I recall a provider telling me once that they started with an agency that would put up a few ads, all concurrent, with stock photos of various types - black, white, asian, brunette, blonde, thin, voluptuous, etc. Then send out whoever was on duty that resembled the ad's photo. The lady I saw was hot as hell and also delivered a great time. Its not so much about deception but a convenient way to run the agency. Still bait and switch though.
That and their price is why I don't use them anymore. I always try to say I am well reviewed and at least put my number in the post so hope that helps you to avoid the robs, pics not up to date etc. I have been surprised that there is not much knowledge of Eccie even in the south. P411 and Date-check are at least reasonable. Luckily even though I use BP much more now, esp. when traveling, that it is the site that pays my traveling expenses at least. I will be back in late May. .....i've looked at it for MN (eros) in/since the summer and saw it around 70 if memory serves me right. In DC on eros the number of ladies has stayed about the same (fluctuates between like 180-ish to 230-ish maybe 250 at the highest, it's at 217 at the moment) so well so much for the holidays seriously cutting down on who is or isn't advertising.
About eros vs BP. It varies in the end....sometimes monthly depending on how you post Eros can be cheaper. On DC bp it's 10 bucks a post now and if you're a lady that is used to posting 2 to 3 times in the day there it can cost 20 to 30 bucks a day (it can total 600+ monthly if they post every single day or close) but a one month (30 days) standard no extras base Eros ad is 150. A weekly sponsor ad in DC bp is anywhere between 18 and 25 a week (some ladies might just do one "regular" post a day or every other day and keep a sponsor ad running but let's say they post once a day every other day and keep a sponsor ad they are still spending about 50-ish a week). In MN i think it's only a little cheaper on bp (5 to 7 i think in mpls BP but maybe 2 bucks a post in like duluth or st. cloud) and Mpls bp like DC can be very active and many girls will post several times a day (at least twice).
Some might think of their posting vs how much they need in a day and don't want to pay the $$$ up front for an eros ad even tho again depending on how they post on BP that an Eros standard ad just might be cheaper monthly ($125 visiting/15 days or $150 base/one month. Girls looking to rip-off guys super quickly and disappear usually won't bother with an eros ad.
