earn to Fly

By Foo Fighters

Run and tell all of the angels
This could take all night
Think I need a devil to help me
Get things right

Hook me up a new revolution
'Cause this one is a lie
We sat around laughing
And watch the last one die

I'm looking to the sky to save me
Looking for a sign of life
Looking for something help me burn out bright

I'm looking for a complication
Looking 'cause I'm tired of trying
Make my way back home
When I learn to fly (high)

Think I'm done nursing the patience
I can wait one night
I'd give it all away
If you give me one last try

We live happily ever trapped
If you just save my life
Run and tell the angels
That everything is all right

I'm looking to the sky to save me
Looking for a sign of life
Looking for something help me burn out bright

I'm looking for a complication
Looking 'cause I'm tired of trying
Make my way back home
When I learn to fly (high)
Make my way back home
When I learn to fly

Fly along with me
I can't quite make it alone
Try to make this life my own
Fly along with me
I can't quite make it alone
Try to make this life my own

I'm looking to the sky to save me
Looking for a sign of life
Looking for something help me burn out bright

I'm looking for a complication
Looking 'cause I'm tired of trying
Make my way back home
When I learn to

Looking to the sky to save me
Looking for a sign of life
Looking for something help me burn out bright

I'm looking for a complication
Looking 'cause I'm tired of trying
Make my way back home
When I learn to fly high
Make my way back home
When I learn to fly
Make my way back home
When I learn to

Songwriters: GROHL, DAVID / HAWKINS, OLIVER / NATE, MENDEL

Kram

Ps. Fly along with me
I can't quite make it alone
Try to make this life my own
Fly along with me
I can't quite make it alone
Try to make this life my ow

I texted my kids to go to youtube  and watch! (without telling them where I heard of it, I'm not stupid!) Lol!

Thanks for sharing Kram!  The energy brings me back to when I saw the Foo Fighters in 1997 in Montreal, a great show!  I'm hoping to see them when they play here in the Cities next month.

Be safe,

Buck

...standpoint, there are about 250 drummers and they've all learned the drum parts almost exactly as the recorded version. Taylor Hawkins likely never plays this song the same way twice but to get 250 musicians to learn it rote is pretty impressive. I can tell that the drummers, all wearing headphones, are playing along with the recorded version of the song and, along with the other 750 rockers, are watching the director as well as the flashing lights on the scaffolding which flash in time with each quarter note, to keep everyone in sync. That's extremely difficult to achieve and this must have taken multiple takes to pull off.

Thanks Kram!!! Very cool!   :)

Yeah, picked up on the headphones and the lights flashing also...they had PCM mics on some poles around the drums also...total nightmare for a logistics and sound dudes...

A few Cameras on drones and yes multiple takes...well rehearsed...when he starts talking on the mic it is dead quiet...obviously a little studio polish on the final and a "little" auto-tunes...but it really captures the emotion of the event...I am an audiophile and music lover.  For me it is all about the Goosebumps and connecting to the emotional spine of the music...this had it in spades...

I saw the Foo Fighters at Roy Wilkins during the Monkey Wrench tour...I give Dave Grohl allot of credit for planting his own flag after being in the biggest band in the world during the early 90's...

If you have not seen his documentaries Sound City and Sonic Highways...they are definitely worth a watch and listen...seems to be a pretty grounded dude...

I thought this board could use some good Ju-ju... or something a little up lifting at the least...

Thank you for the kind words and very astute of you to pick-up and appreciate the musical clues and nuances of the difficulty of pulling off a performance like that...

Thanks
Kram

Ps.  I actually got a little misty the first few times I listened to it...but hey I'm an emotional passionate Italian dude..

Another good one! I like the Pointer Sisters version also. Reminds
me of a lady I once saw,  "But when we kiss..Fire"
Oh man the passion!

I found the Foo Fighters interesting and enjoyed it. Bruce needs no introduction to me as I've known him (Springsteen) well for a long long time.

Why not post another positive good KARMA video for all of us to enjoy!
