Reviews have become meaningless.

Reviews of become meaningless because every review is a glowing report on how wonderful the woman is in her appearance and performance.  Every BBBJ is the best the reviewer has ever had and every woman is a sexual dynamo. Review inflation. Either of these guys are completely dumbstruck with love, or the think they’re going to curry favor with the provider by writing a rave review, and maybe get a freebie or a discount.
The only solution to this problem is to post reviews where providers can’t read them.  Apparently, that’s not what the reviewers only section is for.

Your idea about a site where ladies can't read reviews is an interesting one.  That might reduce review inflation some.  However, I also think ladies get value in seeing their reviews.   The vast number of reviews I have written have had high ratings, but this is also because I use reviews to help me decide who to see and the reviews are good enough to where I know what to expect.  So I stand by most of the scores I have given.  I will also give the occasional 2 or 3.  About the only way to get a 2 from me is misrepresentation in ads or from friends posting fake good reviews or something else bad that pisses me off.  Probably my most entertaining 2 rating is this review I placed in the Link URL.

One review that I did screw up on and rated too high was Danni Summers TER #345959.  However, the first visit was good, but I think I was lucky.  She is unreliable and usually always late.  At one point I was going to write a second review of her with a more appropriate score and I even drafted it on TER.  But I felt bad for her and decided not to post it.  I have a feeling a bad reputation is catching up to her anyhow.  She keeps changing her name and it looks like she is using photos of a different lady in many of her ads now.  In fact, I almost contacted her again one day my mistake.  The name was different and the look of the lady in the photos was so different that I didn't realize it was her at first.  Then her phone number came up on my avoid list.  After trying to figure out why, I realized who it really was.

Regardless, I have not seen another review site as good as TER.  If you are familiar with one other site, it's short name is two letters, if that helps anyone know which one I'm referring to.  Reviews there have no detail and are mostly worthless except for helping to avoid rip offs.  Then there is another site with a primate type name, the reviews in that site are largely fake and incorrect.

My opinion on reviews is that some, maybe too many, are worthless because they have no real info, they are also too short making them meaningless.

Bad grammar, punctuation, spelling and either no description or a vague description of the provider, all make for a lousy review, IMO.
There is spellcheck and if you write the review in a word app, to copy and paste, there is a grammar and punctuation check!

Also, filling up the review with routine moves like, with Asian providers, removing shoes or door magically opens. Parking and traffic should only be mentioned if it isn't routine, and the reviewer had problems. Getting the code to go up is another one.

Now, in my early reviews I did some of the things I mentioned, but I stopped doing them and always try to improve my reviews to put out useful info!

So, IMO there are a lot of things wrong with some reviews, but when reviews are done with some thought, they are useful.

Meh.  TER has become virtually worthless since COVID.  Many reviews are completely false.  Not many providers.  The few providers massively overcharge because there is no competition.  The new reviews are mostly Kgirl reviews, which are always suspect.  Very sad.

Suspect to who?
Do you participate in the Kgirl scene?
Those are the only waters I swim in, but the few, very few indies I see are also Asian!
IMO, if you do your research correctly you will have good sessions and have a real good idea of who will open the door.
But everyone does what's best for them, and that's what I do!

I would agree that the number of active providers on TER needs to go up and yes that has changed around the time of COVID.  But there are other reasons I won't go into here.  It's up to us to get more ladies added here.  Whenever I see someone who is not yet on TER, I always try and get them added here.  Usually a sticking point can be an acceptable ad link.  If guys would just to a little more research, such a link can often be found.  Another option I have done occasionally, if she seems good, is help get them on P411 and then write the review.

Not so sure about the overcharging part.  Yes, rates have gone up a noticeable amount over the last two or three years.  So has the price of everything.

Fake reviews are largely a function of the free VIP for reviews. That’s why I wish TER would go to a pay only membership. Give free days for problem reports, heck even give free days for reviews after a guy becomes a paid member, but no free days or free VIP for non-paying participants.

Yes, it should definitely lower fake review.  But also the number of real reviews.  Getting extra VIP time is a good motivator or putting in the time.  The other issue is sometimes a lady who sucks, in a bad way, will either have friends write fake reviews for them or use a different IP themselves.  So it would possibly only be a partial fix.

The only thing truly, consistently and comprehensively meaningless here is every post you make.
Maybe you and CDL can form a union of dyspeptic whiners and just post under a combined name.

me "whining" about something?  That doesn't sound like me.  I'm more likely giving valuable information and advice from my own extensive experience with providers.  I'm guessing you made it up to "cheapshot" me.

My view goes back to early 2000's and the situation was not vastly different then  .  .  .   .  maybe a few more low scores but there was still a lot of 'fluff' in the reviews overall. As regards  "Every BBBJ is the best the reviewer has ever had", well that is much simpler.... the BJ you are getting (or just got) is ALWAYS the best.  ;)

I've read somewhere in the neighborhood of 3,000 reviews on this site, and obviously there's some people who put a lot more time and effort into writing their reviews than other people.  As you pore through the reviews, you learn to separate the wheat from the chaff so you can pay attention to the good reviews and ignore the bad ones.

Personally, I can't stand reviews that are riddled with spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors, or don't even have complete sentences or coherent thoughts.   If you're going to take the time to write a review, please take the time to make it readable and informative.   I really appreciate the hobbyists who have made an effort to write something that clearly communicates what their experience was like (physically and emotionally).  And there's a couple writers who take the time to not only inform, but also entertain with their reviews (you know who you are).   Yes, there are many people who overuse certain cliches (no, you do not have a  patent on your DATY technique!) but I forgive those shortcomings because I assume most of us are not professional writers.

IMHO, a mixed bag of reviews beats no reviews at all.   Without reviews, you're flying blind with nothing but an ad (that could potentially be a very misleading representation of the provider and their services).  Having reviews allows you to at least get some sense of the provider.   If someone has 50+ reviews from a wide range of people over a long span of time, and the vast majority of them are really strong, then you are really increasing your chance of having a good experience.  But if they only have a couple sketchy reviews, then you're better off taking your business elsewhere.   Personally, I'm grateful that reviews have guided me to some great encounters with some great people.

I can't help but think of Yelp — there are always people over-hyping a restaurant ("best restaurant EVER!") while other people are over-criticizing the same place ("I can't believe I had to wait 5 minutes for my glass to be refilled!") both of them doing so in a way that feels unrealistic.    But if I read enough reviews of the restaurant, I get a sense of the good outweighing the bad or vice-versa.

FWIW, I put thought into my own reviews.  Other reviewers have provided a service to me by guiding me to great providers (and away from bad ones) so I want to return the favor by doing the same.   I usually draft a review right after the appointment while details are fresh in my head and then think about it and rewrite a few times before posting.   I try to make the review a really honest and accurate reflection of my experience.   If my reviews are mostly positive, it's because I've had a mostly positive experience (due to choosing providers based on reviews).    If I did have a negative experience, I wouldn't worry about offending the provider with a negative review, because I'm not going to see her again.

Anyhoo...   I doubt I'm changing anyone's mind — folks on these discussion boards have pretty strong opinions, so if you think all the reviews are terrible, I doubt I'm gonna change your mind.

 Just giving my 2¢...

If these were the rules for a review to be posted, it would really fight back against fake pics and fake reviews.
In the body of the VIP review, the client is required to explicitly state of the following on appearance:
Are photos are accurate, photoshopped, or a completely different person
Age or estimated age
Face - pretty or plain looking
Cup size, specify boobs fake or real, and if any part of the body is fake
Approximate Height
Hair color
Eye color
Build - fat, chubby, slim thicc, really slender/thin petite, or not fat but athletic/muscular build
Tattoos - where are they
Piercings, where are they
Approximate weight (100-105 lbs, 115-120 lbs)
Open to different positions
Outfit friendly
DFK and BBJ allowed
Punctual
Attitude - friendly, standoffish, etc.

And there you have it. No need for some stupid anecdote about ‘wow she’s hot and went down on me, and here is how we did it from beginning to end’. I literally do not care. That tells me nothing about the girl’s appearance. I just want to have a very strong idea of what the provider looks like, and if she is open to different positions. That is all. Keep the rating system in place, but really break down the appearance very well, and limit performance to what’s on the menu, rather than some story that tells me nothing about what she looks like.

Everyone here starts doing that - Fake pics cannot counter it.

I agree. There’s one site I particularly like for their reviews that’s mainly used for AAMPs but has other reviews too.  Reviewers get rated based on previous posts which allows them to lock their reviews to a certain reading level. Only people at that level and above can read your review. This helps limit the audience to only mongers. And keeps the reviews from being indexed in search engines.

TER isn't perfect we know that. Put it's the best review site around. You want the fluff of PD? Or do you really want the fake bullshit reviews of that Monkey site? No....you don't
The trick here is to read between the lines in the review. And with that, you can get a feel of what happens, how much involvement there was. Dissecting a review is an art...either you have it, or you don't. After 20 plus years, you can read a review and get a feel of how the session went.
We can have TER or we can have.....Listcrawler..lol

If TER changes the reviews to what I am suggesting, the reviews will absolutely mean something.

Agreed. I've had nothing but problems with the Monkey site. It's a good place to see reviews if they aren't listed on TER but who knows how accurate they are. TER is still the gold standard. It's not perfect, far from it but at least you have a decent chance at success finding a compatible provider that won't bail with your cash before delivering the booty. [A better chance than you would WITHOUT TER.]

However transactional people might view this, it's not Amazon. They're personal interactions that sometimes clicks and sometimes don't. I actually think that, to be fair, providers should be able to respond to our observations about them. There is another site that allows this. My advice to your concern is to simply compare reviews, focusing on preponderance and trends, especially with the most recent reviews.

You’ll notice my proposed overhaul of the ratings really focuses on are the pics and stats/measurements real, just physical appearance, moreso than anything subjective or pointless to share in a review (she was a bitch, we had so much fun!). Nearly every review I read NEVER explicitly mentions any of these things!! It is insanity. Shouldn’t we get to know what and who we are paying for, so long as safety, reliability, discretion, and ability to pay are proven on our end.

The whole reason TER came into play was to stop the catfishing and bait-and-switching.

This is and has been the best site out there, hands down. Some reviews can be fake, sure. However, some research can go a long ways. And id much rather have some reviews to guide me than going back to the 1990's and just taking a chance.

The fact that someone would complain about this system is silly. Were you not a monger pre the net and this site? This site is and has been a game changer.

I learned from my first meeting with a provider reviewed here that:
1. The looks rating is subjective
2. While play by play section is nice, you have to take it with a slight grain of salt. Ymmv in many cases.

This site saves us mongers from being ripped off, or worse. Count your blessings.

an add on when a 'like' is given, you have to tell why you liked it.
One sentence should be enough or a drop-down choice that uses a few words for description why it was liked.

On the way home from a 3rd session with a Kgirl I recently added on my rotation list, I got to thinking how I could have reviewed her better if I waited until after 2 or 3 sessions.

And this would be in the Mongers hands, if the new (to you) girl is a one 'n' done then do a review.
If she will be a repeat and, in your rotation, it might be better to see her a few times and then do the review.

I’ve been clicking on the reviewer and looking at their history. If it’s all 8/9 9/9 9/8 and no bad reviews ever I’ll pass on reading it. Everyone has at least one sad story to tell and if you don’t or just have 1 or 2 reviews I don’t buy it.

It also seems like there are not a whole lot of recent reviews for many providers. The hobby seems to be taking a real hit since COVID. Not seeing as many active providers anymore and the prices are going sky high. Add to this the recent upsurge in demanding an up front deposit it just makes everything a lot more difficult.

For the most part, providers are reading the market. If prices were lower, I'm sure many would see more providers. But for providers, more is not always best. If they can see less clients and make about the same or more money, it will be a preference for some of them. Even better, if they can maintain the number of clients they are seeing at a higher rate. And providers talk to one another and watch one another. If they see a provider they feel is comporable to what they offer successfully raise rates, they can easily be influenced to do the same. At the same time, I have seen situations where a provider lowers their rates shortly after raising them. If raising their rates hurts their bottom line and they want more clients, they may bring them back down. At the end of the day, they are running a business and the best of them is going to make smart business moves, and the best of them are often going to be the ones we want to see the most. But yes, for some of us an increasingly more expense market will be hard.
