Sorry, I'm behind on the boards. This is a legit site. I looked it up on Snopes.com as well. It is mentioned in one article. Look toward the bottom and there are a couple of legit sites to help get rid of marketing companies in general.

I thought some of you might find this link useful…it is to stop credit card companies from checking your credit to pre-approve you for credit cards and then soliciting you via mail.

I use to work at a collection agency and having your credit checked too often can reflect badly on your credit.

How legit is that site? I'm not willing to give anyone my social security number online.

i promise this is a legit site...i am an internet junkie and always do my research...it has to ask for your social in order to stop credit card companies from checking your credit without your permission...you social is already out there floating around for companies to get ahold of if you own any major credit cards at all...i work in a collection agency for 2 years and am pretty keen on this stuff.
