The research also revealed the U.S. states that have the most STI and STD cases.

Mississippi has the highest rate, at 1,187 diagnoses per 100,000 people, followed by Louisiana at 1,145, Alaska at 1,066, South Dakota at 993 and Georgia at 975.

More than half of Americans with STDs were infected by cheating partners.

The last stat does not make sense.  Wouldn’t that mean the cheating partner had to be the other 55%?

90.8675309% of all statistics were made up on the spot.

Sorry to question but I call everything bullshit now unless the shocking information is delivered with reliable data driven source.  To say I’ve become an untrusting skeptic about all news and internet information is an understatement.

My bad - I should have just added citations in original post.

Who came up with the statistics matter.  You can find a statistic to support anything online.  Personally, I need to know who owns, runs and funds whatever source I'm getting info from before I even consider it.

Personal responsibility in every aspect of life is more important than any statistic. There's no power in reading statistics and allowing them into your consciousness.  Power is in taking personal responsibility, being our own leader and using our own minds. In my world, 100% of me has never had an STD because I take personal responsibility for my own body and well being.  Statistics not needed.

I agree with you... I will add that it is incredible that before the 1990's we thought access to information limited our intelligence.  Now with the internet we have a ton of people educated beyond their intelligence.  Having the information is not being intelligent, knowing what to do with the information is.

I travel very little these days.....however.... Louisiana and Mississippi were areas you could travel to and do well in a hotel bar....like the Hilton in Baton Rouge, or most any decent hotel in Gulfport or Jackson!  Never tried to pick up anything in New Orleans....always have the feeling you could get whatever from breathing the air!
