Some facts on TER chat:

1. TER schedules providers to be guest chatters
on Tuesday nights at 7:00pm PT.  The home page
will usually highlight the next guest chatter.

2. You can use your TER handle or alias in chat.

3. When using a TER handle, others can click on
your name in the guest list and view profile
information that you set up.  For instance, you
can add an email address or website link.  When
using an alias, others can not view your profile.

4. The TER Lounge and the TS room are for all
members. The other city rooms (e.g. LA, NY, etc)
are for VIP members only.  The room selection
menu is at the top right of the TER chat window.

5. In VIP rooms only, you can talk to another
person privately by selecting them off the drop
down menu that appears in the lower right of the
TER chat window.

6. The guest list has ignore check boxes next to
each name.  By checking a box, you block anything
that person says from appearing on your screen.
This can be helpful for dealing with annoying
chat trolls.

7. Ignore check boxes stay put across aliases.
If you ignore Chatter1 and he or she leaves and
disappears from the guest list and then comes
back as Chatter2, the ignore button is still
checked.  Very useful tool when necessary.

8. TER chat support emoticons.  Typing certain
character sequences will produce a graphic.
There are about eleven supported emoticons:

   - happy
   - sad
   - wide grin
   - wink
:P    - panting
:O    - surprise
:]    - devil
:[    - angry
O  - angel
  - clown (thanks to Ms Info for this info)
XX(   - death (ditto)

There are a few bugs in the new site chat.  They
have alread been reported.

1. The guest list does not update automatically.
For Windows, you need to press F5 or right-click
and select refresh while the cursor is over the
guest list.

2. The text box where you type doesn't scroll
correctly sometimes so you can't see what you're
typing if it goes past the edge of the text window.

3. Private message does not work in the VIP rooms
because the drop down menu to select another member
is never updated properly.

4. When navigating to different chat rooms TER
sometimes gets the room title wrong.
