This might not sound in line with your post, but it could be if you get ghosted.

I can’t recall ever getting verified in advance and then getting ghosted in all my years hobbying in DC and NoVA. Sure, had a couple of NCNS in Maryland over the years, but those were same day or no verification I think (plus kind of expected). I’ve also had ladies cancel but told me ahead of time. I’m talking specifically getting verified and arranging a week out, texting here and there up to the day, but then getting ghosted the day of.  

I was traveling in southern VA (about an hour from Charlottesville) for 4 days, and had lined up 3 appointments with 3 different providers plus got verified by a 4th. 2 of the 3 appointments told me that they were happy to see a visitor because business was very slow down there and times were hard. Long short, I got ghosted by all 3 and ended up seeing the 4th that I didn’t have an appointment with exclusively 3 times and she got all the money. From the looks of her house and cars, she was doing just fine, and I have to assume it’s due to reliability. The same 2 who said they could use the money responded to me 2 and 3 days after the day of our appointments with weak excuses (eg. fell asleep and missed our time.. 3 days ago), but wanted so badly to still meet up somehow, needed the money even more, etc. Not a peep out of the 3rd one which didn’t matter anyway. Pun intended, you snooze you lose.

I happened to talk to a restaurant owner on my last night while waiting for a to-go order, and we talked about how hard it was to find good help these days. He said that he can’t staff his place anymore because so many “young folk around here are hooked on pills or meth”. Is this the reason I was ghosted? I’ll never know, but I wouldn’t doubt it. These are all providers with reviews here or elsewhere, and most of them were also on 411.
