Since someone asked, yah there's plenty I can tell about Argentina.  First, depending how long you're going for, book a place on Expedia or one of the other companies.  Make sure they do take American bank cards.  If you're planning on staying more than a week, you can get a much better deal paying cash and a lot of places only take cash.  Since it is hard to get local cash money, many do take American money.  If you may be staying a month, figure on a cheap place still costing $800.   Go to https://duckduckgo.com/ and type in Argentina apartments to see what's available.

2. And no matter what place you get, there will be problems.  Like maybe only a light out or plumbing, electrical or anything else.  Their work ethic is rather low and the prices are rather high.  Be careful on the travelers health insurance, some require you to pay everything, then may reimburse you.  I'm even having trouble getting reimbursed from Cigna, and that's with them saying they will.  That's been going on for a month.

3. At the airport there is some scams there.  The one I met, was wearing a suit and was overly friendly.  His unmarked taxi was parked away from the others.  You will have a hard time getting the cost of the ride from him.  There is a taxi desk in the airport, but it will still cost about $50 in American money and take an hour to get to the hotel.  In town the taxi service seems okay.

4. The language is mainly a different type of Spanish, though it helps if you know any kind of Spanish.  At the airport and hotels most folks know English, but not all.  I ended up at a big fancy hotel in Sao Paulo, Brazil that no one could understand English.  Carry a translation dictionary.  About getting money, since the problem with inflation, the limit is around $120 a day.  And banks do run out some times, and that goes with coins also.  Make sure you send a list of the countries and dates to your home bank.

5. Around Buenos Aires, I think most folks are friendly.  One day there, I was got a little lost trying to take a short cut to save a mile or 2.  I stopped to talk to a couple of lawmen, and the lady opened the door and had me get in the patrol car with them, and they drove to find and stopped the bus I needed so I could get on.

6. Some others just do not seem to like us gringos.  Some will try to pick-pocket you.  And do not use a camera bag to carry the camera or a computer bag for the computer, when strolling around in public.  From the airport it's okay.  I only got attacked a couple times.

7. There is good place at 535 Florida Ave to get anything for computers and cameras.  Might be the only place to get the American stuff, but the prices will be higher.  The under ground Railroad and town bus service is okay, depending on time of day.  You got to get a card to use those services.  One time when going on a train ride in Argentina, it broke down.  When going out, do not carry excess money or jewelry or anything else to attract attention.  Their post offices are the most expensive and not the most reliable.

The weather and air is good around Buenos Aires, though it can rain hard enough to flood the roads.  They do got a nice boat service to Uruguay.  About me, remember that I do not always have access to the TER message service.
Sorry about being long on this, but hope this info helps.  Well, I got a few miles to hike.
