Altidore & michael bradley missed easy goal shots.
altidore hit the ball with the wrong foot and bradley just hit it wrong. The USa could have easily gone up on Italy 3-0. Pearce and BOcanegra(regular defenders) missed the game thus throwing off the defense.

The US will not win anything major in soccer because the best athletes we have all play in the NFL, NBA, and MLB.
I'd imagine if the US didn't have those sports, we would be pretty damn dominant in soccer.
