"OnlyFans," or COVID-19?sad_smile

Been noticing a DEARTH of PS providers recently, or even on the "horizon."

Left me wondering, is it due to "COVID-19" ("pros" being cautious, various travel restrictions in place, etc.), or is this a result of MORE "pros" going the "OnlyFans" route?

Used to be "escorting" was one of the few outside revenue streams left for "pros," outside of feature dancing at some strip club.

But, recently, I've noticed even ESTABLISHED PSs setting up their own "OnlyFans" pages.

Wonder if that's deterring them from "touring?"

Will we ever get back to "normal?"

Thoughts, gents?

Thanks!  ;)

I posted a very related thread on "the death of the hobby" validating your observations.

There are some recent signs of hope. In the last month, I've seen a few big new names appear as available with some of the popular agencies.

I do not think OnlyFans can get much more lucrative per provider than it is. There is unlimited supply right now -- everyone and her mother has heard the anecdotal story of Jane Doe quitting her job and making crazy money on OF. Providers are going to have to provide more for less to stay competitive.

The lifestyle for providers is not sustainable.  Even with support crews doing most of their work for them, it is a daily grind  that must be extremely emotionally draining.  The same lame low level conversations all day, every day. Heart and kiss emojis. They STILL have not figured out an effective way to prevent pirating; in fact, providers are less quick to have pirated content taken down than did the big production companies.

I really have no idea how any consumer can be foolish enough to be part of OF. The only unique feature is the ability to have custom work made. That's a small part of the market, willing to pay substantial amounts. My understanding is quite a few of these customs can be pretty taboo. I know one major provider who has voluntarily quit OF because she just couldn't bear the requests she was getting. She can still make mega money providing, and that's what she's doing.

How many damn times can we watch a girl masturbate in front of an ipad, in an spare bedroom with poor lighting and rushed makeup?

I don't see them returning to production studios. At least not unless and until OF plummets to nothing a la MySpace. In that way, I unfortunately think we never return to the way things were, which were awesome for us by the way. Tons of high quality content was available, instantaneously and free, and stars were assumed to be providers until proven not providers.

But I do think it's possible that the holier than thous who have quit providing are going to warm to it again. Touring? Maybe not. But if you're willing to see them in their hometowns, I do think all of the above might inspire a few to come out of retirement. I am eagerly waiting by the way.

I also think if providers still use the production studios in addition to OF, that's a sign they will warm to it. If they're willing to take the time to be on set, it's a good sign.

Do your part to expedite this process. Spread the word. Cancel your subs. OnlyFans SUCKS. I want the talent to do well, but not at the expense of permanently warping their personalities and making them unavailable to us.

Hey, "JP," thanks for your EXTENSIVE response.  I have to admit, I was inspired, even if subconsciously, by your previous thread.  ;)

Allow me to respond to your post, point by point -

1. Again, I'm SURPRISED at how many ESTABLISHED PS are on "OF!"  I mean, I get why virtual "unknowns" are on there, but WHY would an established star be on there, aside from purely mercenary terms?  Those affiliated with the BIG studios get all the BENEFITS, namely professional make-up/lighting/direction to make them appear like the sex GODDESSES we've come to know and love.  Obviously, you duplicate the same effect on "OF."  If anything, it diminishes these "goddesses" appeal and in doing so, dilutes their market value.

2.  I'd be curious to know how MUCH a PS could expect to make from being on "OF?"  Like you said, the only real appeal of using "OF" is to get some kind of "custom" content made, and like you said, that could only be a limited market.  For the REGULAR "Joe," "OF" is the biggest SCAM.  Even if you pay for a subscription to any individual star's account (as I'll admit, I have), you then have to pay to get any additional worthwhile adult content, to which I say, "GTFOH!"

3. As for seeing PSs in their hometowns, among the most EXTREME example of this that I've seen is the legendary "Janine Lidemuller" seeing clients in her hometown of... Eugene, Oregon, not exactly a major transportation hub! LOL!  I'd be curious to see if once COVID becomes "endemic" vs. "pandemic" and travel becomes less risky, if our favorite PS providers will come back to visiting major hubs like NY and LA again.    One can only hope...

PS have been moving away from the big studios for a while. It seemed many were only doing enough to keep their "name" alive between feature dances, tours / privates and custom content.

There are some customers who do like custom videos, and there are some who like the idea of always having the latest and greatest. They'll pay for whatever is new content.

When the pandemic started, the stars had to find a way to get some revenue. There was no filming, no featuring, and very few were willing to provide. It was a perfect environment for OF to thrive. Everyone was home. People were bored. A lot of people had stimulus money and padded unemployment.

As for earning potential: more than most of us can appreciate. Most PS don't show how many fans they have, but some do. I see a pretty big name who has about 1500 paying followers at $10 a month. She has about 1 million followers on Instagram. That's a capture rate of about 0.1%. It's just an estimate, but let's just assume that's roughly the percent of online followers who pay for something.

Without doing a single custom video, without getting a single tip, that means she's pulling in $192k a year. Just on getting people to pay the entry fee. There are girls who seem much more active, who have a much bigger presence, so I can only imagine they are pulling in even more. For the record, Lana has 16 million instagram followers. Mia K has over 20 million. So that would mean multi-million dollar incomes per year.

Most continue to live in LA or Vegas. Some are in Florida or NYC. Even though I live in a big city, given the way things are I can't wait around hoping they'll come to my hometown. I usually bite the bullet and travel to see them in the big cities. The session feel more frictionless. I think it's much more likely you're the only client they see that day if its a local visit, as opposed to a tour.

You are spot on. I Sugar Daddy a girl with numbers similar to what you are talking about (She does about $200,000). The thing is OF keeps 20% and her OF Manager takes 20%. Factor in the IRS and at the end of the day, she is making very little after tax and expenses income and she is constantly hustling to create content all the time to keep the subscribers she has. It is quite stressful for her.

I feel sorry for the guys who think they are actually communicating with her.

I won't reveal her name.

The talent I'm referencing is a very big name who was once openly available. She says as much in public interviews... yes, I was an escort, I'm not anymore. Have to appreciate her candor.

Full disclosure -- I have been wrong many times before. Cryptocurrency and Tesla are just two examples, both of which deprived me of an early retirement.

With that said, I think business concepts have a shorter lifespan than ever before. I think OF hit its Apex because of Covid. It appears to be a very stressful business to run, and it seems the earning potential is only going to go down.

The talent I follow on Twitter seems to be venting their frustrations more than ever before. It seems that ALL social media seems to be reaching some kind of turning point. Of course I might be biased because I hate all of it.

The $200k a year example translates to about $600 a day gross. Minus OF's cut, minus taxes, minus paying staffers. That same talent could easily make $1500 cash for one private session... about 20% going to the agent, but no staffers and no IRS.

That's why I think it's possible we see some talent come back to providing. More likely they'd go back to providing than back to filming for studios. If they have a strong fan following, it's more money and less work than shooting.

That's just my theory, and just for those who have an existing fan base. And I hope it happens soon, because some of the talent I want to see (again) is getting up there in age.

I don't know what the long-term future holds, as it appears there has been a serious talent drought by way of the studios in recent years.

I subscribe to a few OF pages. Yes, it is hilarious that the content creators outsource the fan interactions but even more hilarious that fools believe its them. Not all do this but its pretty obvious with barrage of mail prompts to buy this vid or that. Baby this or daddy that, and feigned interest  with questions about you. Im there for product not to make friends. I do appreciate the few hew actually interact especially regarding details of scenes shot or up coming shoots.

When I see a provider has an OF page, I always subscribe to see what her personality is like on video and if there’s anything she looks like she really enjoys while in action.

My suggestion -- check out some BTS interviews and rely on feedback from TER community. You're not going to get a real sense from OF -- it's very much a performance.

Here’s a tip... all the big name porn stars are paying a team to run their only fans accounts. It’s a business
