Don't get me wrong, I love Tammy Duckworth, but it's not about who scares Trump. It's about getting Joe Biden elected. I may be wrong, but I don't think that a VP in a wheelchair will inspire much confidence in the voting public and her being a heartbeat away from the Presidency IMHO. These aren't the times of FDR. Not trying to be mean. Just being realistic, but time will tell. I prefer Harris or Rice.
I think people can figure out Duckworth is actually a healthy person who's given birth to a couple of kids in recent years. Also, she's not always in a wheelchair and is able to walk with prosthetic legs, which I'm sure she'd do in the campaign. As for FDR, the thing was back then no one knew he couldn't walk, at least not the general public. Whenever you see footage of him back then he's standing next to one of his sons who, unbeknownst to the public, was actually holding him up. The fact he was in a wheelchair most of the time who unknown to the general public. So the comparison doesn't hold up.
I also like Harris and Rice but they both have baggage Duckworth simply doesn't have.
Like I said, I love her too and I may be 1000% wrong, but she will not inspire voter confidence being handicapped when she could become President at any second. Who cares if she scares Trump if the voting public won't vote for Joe if he picks her for a running mate? This is not exactly confidence inspiring.

FDR had his legs covered up many times. Like I said, I may be 1000% wrong, but in many peoples minds (not my own) there is a stigma of weakness and instability associated with any disability. If Joe picks her I just hope it doesn't hurt his chances.

Here is the problem, after 40 plus years in politics Joe owes so many people he can't possibly please them all. Susan Rice after saving Obama's ass after Benghazi is the establishment pick. Harris is the pick of the pragmatic wing of the party who want's someone who could credibly step in on January 22 after the 25th amendment is invoked. None of these picks are going to please everybody, but Biden doesn't have a choice but to pick one of them or perhaps one of a VERY small handful of other black women like perhaps one of the ultra liberal mayors from either Atlanta, Chicago or DC.
The one thing is certain, Biden will NOT pick anyone who is not both black and female. Book it.

This happened shortly before the election, Obama was very vulnerable due to the unpopularity of Obamacare and his fuck up in Libya could have easily turned the election. Obama himself couldn't tell this lie and neither could SOS Clinton so Susan Rice stepped up to the plate, told a bald face lie to the American public, diffused the crisis until after the election and the rest is history.

I’m not clear that Susan Rice “lied” about the video causing a spontaneous riot – from what I remember she was given talking points by the White House and CIA and accepted them as true. But the various “editors” all knew the talking points were false and designed to show Benghazi was not an Obama policy failure (thanks Judicial Watch). At a minimum, however, Rice should have insisted on an intelligence briefing before she represented to the nation- “this is what happened.”
I have not read anything tying either Hillary, or Mr. Obama, to the talking points, although Mr. Obama did later make misrepresentations when he defended her. But they both knew the true facts and should have immediately issued corrections – and they didn’t. To Trump’s credit, I don’t think he would send someone out to blatantly lie to the nation like the Obama White House did – he would do it himself. That’s a real man. LOL. But this is definitely a rare stain on Mr. Obama’s eight years.happened. But a few things are clear. As situations like this unfold, there is always a certain degree of misinformation flowing. As with any fluid situation, intelligent leadership would want to respond with the best information that is available. The administration would like to wait until all the information has been vetted and is 100 per cent accurate, yet must balance the accuracy of this information with the pressure from the media/American public to find out what happened. Not the best of positions to be in.
One would have to understand how we protect our embassies and determine whether or not, potential breakdowns in this process may have affected the outcome in Benghazi before we attribute this tragedy to an error in national policy. Honest and objective research, will show, the ambassador himself, underestimated the threat. Had he elevated the threat level or even potential threat level, our military would have responded in a more timely fashion and the outcome could have been dramatically different.
This is one of those situations where politicians on either side, will conflate and outright bend the facts, to suit their own political purposes.
