Each party would add a new group of justices each time they controlled the government. And why just add enough to form a liberal, or conservative, majority? Let’s not take any chances on a Justice Roberts flipping. Let’s add five new ultra conservative justices and that will take care of Roe v Wade and Obamacare. Pretty soon, we look like Poland which has over 100 justices or some such ridiculous number on the Polish Supreme Court if I remember correctly. And the court starts to look like a legislature. Oral arguments would take forever to give each justice a chance to ask questions.
The more justices, the less weight of a divided opinion. If the Court grows to 20 justices, you could end up with 9 dissenting opinions. Too many loose cannons on the Court and precedent would become just a dim memory. How long before a Louie Gohmert gets appointed? He was a Texas judge, believe it or not. Further, it only takes 4 justices to grant certiorari. Pack the Court and the number of cases they hear will expand accordingly. Way too many statutes would get the judicial review treatment. We need less bureaucracy not more, and that goes for the Supreme Court as well.
I'm in favor of it for several reasons. 1) The number of Justices on the court is not limited in the Constitution and having 9 is not necessary. 2) The Republicans are the ones who have packed this court by refusing to even hold hearings on Garland then changing their position to ram another one through by Trump. 3) So I'm in favor of shoving several more SCOTUS Justices right up the Republicans' corrupt asses. It's exactly what they deserve.

What rock have you been dwelling under, Mari-Klod? That's already a done deal. With Bryant installed both Roe and Obamacare are effectively toast. You're a dumbass.
