and it was just upheld by the DC Circuit about two weeks ago. Under Trumpcare insurance, you can buy health care insurance for as little as $59 a month for up to three years if you renew. Of course, it is junk insurance that does not cover much and they won’t sell to you if you have pre-existing conditions or are old, but still for all practical purposes Trump has succeeded in undermining the Affordable Care Act. Trump has not been able to repeal it but he has made  ACA compliant policies optional.

            Over 3 million of these policies have been sold. And let’s give Trump some credit here.  Shouldn’t we all have the right to effectively go bare if we so choose? Making health insurance mandatory  as did the ACA always seemed like dubious policy to me –good for the old and sick but unfair for the young and healthy and small business, not to mention the taxpayers.  

            Whether he will use his imagined DACA powers to establish the comprehensive health care plan he promised by executive order remains to be seen but supposedly they are working on that for an October surprise.  So long as Mr. Biden is elected, however, all Trumpcare insurance will be flushed on Day One.

I paid 50K to his campaign fund to get the first 3 points. Didn’t want to read the rest. Here are the 3 points:
1. Stay healthy.
2. If you’re sick, it will go away soon ...
3. If you’re really sick ... EAT Shit and die.*

You mean the thousands of stupid young people who are sick with COVID? Nah, they don't need any insurance.

post.  Whether or not you choose to purchase healthcare insurance you are taking a risk.  The more people who sign on and take this risk, the less expensive it is for everyone.  None of the insured knows whether or not they will ever even need to use this insurance but imagine getting seriously ill and not having healthcare insurance?

 
And what happens when those without insurance do get sick?  They overwhelm emergency rooms or go bankrupt leaving someone else holding the bag?  Just like those dummies who refuse to wear seatbelts or wear masks during Covid, those who refuse to purchase healthcare insurance scream the loudest as a result of THEIR irresponsibility, when THEY are the victims of vehicle accidents, being infected by Covid, or getting seriously ill.

 
Make healthcare insurance mandatory, drive down the total cost for healthcare and healthcare insurance for the U.S. as a nation.  In time, those with healthcare insurance will see their doctors more often and the emphasis will shift from treatment to prevention.  Better deal for individuals and our nation as a whole.

Trump just released his healthcare plan like promised.  The plan is to play golf while Americans die and that is "par for the course."

At least Trump is being consistent.  Trump NEVER has a plan or strategy.  If Trump ever said or did anything that was part of a coherent effort, his followers would be lost.

 
Attention to detail?  Trump still has not figured out what that means.

           How can he do that in the face of the mandatory provisions of the Affordable Care Act? (The three year short term insurance is actually permitted by pre- ACA law, so this is different).  You can thank President Obama and his illegal DACA plan. Obama justified the plan as an exercise of prosecutorial discretion – he just would not enforce the federal immigration statute at all, and the dreamers would not be deported.

              Apparently, Trump -now advised by John Yoo - is going to try do that with Obamacare- he will just instruct DHS not to enforce the ACA provisions and to enforce his plan instead, at least if he can get it done before the election.

This should be fascinating….

What does yet another deadline mean to Trump?  Absolutely nothing.  For example, his time in office is almost up 😄 and only a small fraction of the Wall has been completed—none of it paid for by Mexico.  More promises made, promises broken.

which was illegal from Day One- SCOTUS said Trump had to go through the burdensome procedures of the Administrative Procedure Act to revoke it. So Trump is saying that, just as Obama created an illegal DACA plan by executive memorandum,  he on advice of John Yoo can create a health care plan by executive order, notwithstanding the Affordable Care Act, and simply choose not to enforce the ACA.

That is the next Trump “scandal” in the health care arena.  The missed deadlines are not the point- this is being done by staff- not Trump.

Just let Trump do everything by executive fiat. Who needs a Congress?  Think of all the money that would save—more than enough to build that wall.  And no more endless bickering between House and Senate, and Republicans and Democrats in Congress.  

Yup, just change the Inauguration to a Coronation, and there ya go!

But FWIW... all leaders have staff to help them get things done. But when a leader commits to a date to do something, it’s on that person if the deadline isn’t met.

Oh wait, I forgot... Trump doesn’t take responsibility for anything—he just wants all the credit in the rare cases when something gets done.
