It's been so long since I spent Christmas in Michigan and now I have no clue what to do while I'm there (besides be with family of course!) Is the ice rink at Hart Plaza still a thing? Also best places for lunch and or happy hour would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS!!!

I think Campus Martius is the cool place for ice skating.

I don't live in Detroit, just visit pretty regularly. My restaurant knowledge isn't very deep, but might have suggestions. What area are you mainly going to be in?

I'll be in the city but able to travel downtown for the lights, etc.

Here are a couple places north of 8 Mile I've eaten recently that I've liked:
.
Anita's Kitchen, Ferndale (https://anitaskitchen.com/akferndale/) - breakfast and lunch
.
Fly Trap, Ferndale (http://www.theflytrapferndale.com/The_Fly_Trap/daily_buzz.php) - breakfast and lunch
.
Latido@joebar, Hazel Park (http://joebar.com) - happy hour and dinner
.
There seem to be lots of trendy happy hour places in Corktown and Downtown.
.
As far as other things, Greenfield Village with the Christmas decorations is nice if you get a warm day. The Rouge tour is great, but might be closed during the time you're there.
