Seems the Michigan local board has slacked off in activity since I was last around.   Sorry for the departure fellas, but handling a Masters of Fine Arts program is a grueling thing.

So, on to our lil Q&A:

There are so many new great places in Detroit to eat and catch a quick get-to-know-you drink, what's your favorites?

Gastro pubs?

4 star cocktail lounge?

The classic Dive bar?

Or are there any great venues that maybe not everyone knows about?

Come on, share your perennial and new favorites!

Majestic Theatre area has always been good to me. The venue itself has a lot of history to it. The type of artist they draw are ones that are semi under the radar and only draw less than a thousand people at a time. The restaurant and bowling alley attached to it are full of good eats and fun. Parking across the street usually safe. An honorable mention could go out to a place behind the Fox theatre called The Rusted Crow. Their Moscow mule is the best.... How about you Cori? :-)

I'm more of a homebody, but thinking about trying out a few SA meets. I find it hard to find a place I'd be comfortable enough that's public enough for a meeting (come on, like the rest of the restaurant doesn't know what's going on?)...

Are there good places for a first time meeting? Public, yet private enough for private conversation and less chance of getting busted by a friend or family member lol!

I don't live in Detroit any more, but get back there pretty regularly.

Next time I think I'm going to check out The Corner and Detroit Axe in Ferndale.
