However does anyone know about work furlough?  Can one hire an individual girl in jail each night for housekeeping and then take her back in the morning?

That’s a common practice.  Just call the jail or sherriff’s department in your location and ask for the furlough employee request information.  Keep in mind you do need to pay minimum wage, and if they work more than 4 hours, you have to provide them with a 30 minute break and a meal.
