After 9 years of hard work, Coyote RI has finally managed to get legislation introduced.  Rep Williams is sponsoring H5354 (CREATING A SPECIAL LEGISLATIVE COMMISSION TO STUDY THE HEALTH AND SAFETY IMPACT OF REVISING COMMERCIAL SEXUAL ACTIVITY LAWS) and we have 4 co sponsors.  This bill guarantees Coyote RI a seat on the commission. For those who don't know this is the process New Zealand used to get decriminalized.

We think that we have 11 of the 14 members of the House Judiciary Committee willing to support our bill. We have also met with the attorney general who says he will support the bill. This legislative commission guarantees Coyote a seat on the commission and we wont just be advocating for decriminalization for sex workers. We will be advocating for funding for LGBTQ halfway houses, youth drop in centers, subsided housing, etc...

PVD city council changed the date to April 22nd at 7pm to vote to pass the resolution.  Please come out and support us

If you are an organization, PLEASE write a letter of support with your organizations letter head and CC me at ginainri at gmail.com so I can print out the letters of support for PVD City Council and for the House Judiciary Committee hearing on April 30th at 4:30 at the State house.

Please feel free to write a more personal letter, but if you are busy please take 5 minutes to copy and paste our example letter. Its best to create a PDF and attach the file to your email.
